Freedom Group is lobbying the Government: an immunity passport would become the key to real liberation

“Our group proposes to prepare and introduce an immunity passport immediately. It would apply not only to those who have already been vaccinated, but also to those who have acquired immunity after illness or a negative test result,” said Ieva Pakarklytė , the largest of the Liberty Faction, after a remote meeting with the Minister of Health, Arūnas Dulkis.

The MEP explained that according to his idea, the immunity passport should be electronic, which could be printed if necessary.

“It would be marked there that a person who is sick, vaccinated or has a negative test result in the relevant period, can attend, say, cultural events, travel to outdoor cafes. I would be free from certain social activities. In this way, we would create an opportunity to go to events and work for companies.

We also believe that an immunity passport would speed up the rate of vaccination. We are approaching mass vaccination, and what no one would really want us to face is a situation where we already see that this immunity passport is important for us, necessary, but technically not ready for it, ”said I. Pakarklytė.

The freedom faction has no hope that that immunity passport will be presented the next day.

But IT solutions must be developed now. We are not going to have it tomorrow, only to the extent that full attention must be paid to it so that we already have the first product in April, and in May, and perhaps before, it is possible to use it, “he said. I. Pakarklytė.

Having a passport could make up for the more tests

According to the MP, having a working immunity passport could be reimbursed more for testing.

“And we have heard from the Minister that testing remains one of the main long-term control measures. We have heard assurances from the Minister that, in terms of testing, new, less and less invasive methods are emerging. It is likely that each time there are more innovations, and with the tests we will live a long time. It will be part of our daily life, opening up more and more opportunities to participate in public life “, said I. Pakarklytė.

The head of Freedom Faction supported the decision to lift restrictions on movement between municipalities.

“It has been clear for some time that these restrictions are no longer being met. (…) There was also the social justice aspect that it is possible to fly on vacation to the Maldives, Egypt, Mexico, but not to walk in the forests of the neighboring municipality, in picturesque places without endangering anyone in nature. We believe that the abolition of restrictions on movement between municipalities is a good solution, “said I. Pakarklytė.

Delfi recalls that restrictions on movement between municipalities will be lifted as of Wednesday.
