Fourth shipment of COVID-19 vaccine has arrived in Lithuania

Aistė Šuksta, representative of the Minister of Health, informed BNS about this on Monday.

The first shipment arrived in Lithuania at the end of December. In total, Lithuania has already reached just over 66 thousand. dose of vaccine.

They vaccinate doctors, the rest of the hospital staff, volunteers and the seriously ill. Residents and employees of nursing and care institutions will begin vaccination on Tuesday.

A person needs two doses of the vaccine three weeks apart to develop immunity.

The BioNTech and Pfizer vaccine is the first to be approved in the European Union.

On Wednesday, the European Medicines Agency approved the second vaccine produced by the American company Moderna.
