In addition to the 35 existing playgrounds, 2 new playgrounds will be installed this year in Naujininkai (Kapsų St. 21) and Pašilaičiai (Medeinos St. 1). Dogs are expected to run and play on the stairs in late summer.
The new sites will be installed according to various needs: some will have a gravel surface, others will have grass. All pitches will be equipped with quadruped ladders, special tubes for the entertainment of dogs. The sites are fenced, so dog breeders will be able to have fun in the area.
It will be convenient to use the playgrounds for dogs even in the dark of the day; at least 11 dog playgrounds are planned to be illuminated this year.
This year, two previously installed pet playgrounds will be renovated: one near Architektų str. 176 in Lazdynai, other – MK Čiurlionio st. at the entrance to the Vingis Park (Vilkpėdė old town). The work should be completed in the fall. Discussions are also taking place with local residents and other neighborhoods about renovating the sites.
