According to the representative of the State Border Guard Service, Rokas Pukinskas, around 520 trucks are waiting to enter Lithuania from Belarus at the Medininkai checkpoint on Sunday afternoon, 620 at Lavoriškės, 390 at the Šalčininkai points and 290 in Raigardas.

“It is not worth waiting for a rapid descent, because the customs inspection takes longer than ours, this is not where the system is restored and everyone suddenly leaves,” R. Pukinskas told BNS.

From Lithuania to Belarus, the throughput is higher: there are 110 trucks at the Medininkai point, 30 at Lavoriškės, 20 at the Raigardas point, and about 90 trucks are waiting at the Šalčininkai site.

According to data from the Lithuanian National Association of Road Transporters Linava, the number of trucks per day decreased from 2.4 thousand. up to 2.2 thousand.

The Customs Department announced on Saturday that interrupted customs activities have been restored since Tuesday: declarations from tugboats are now accepted electronically. So far the system is in test mode.

According to Linava, some drivers wait a few days at the border.

Customs systems have not been operational since Tuesday. In case of failure of the main server, the trucks were not inspected electronically but on paper, which takes longer.
