The State Border Guard Service (SBGS) announces that it will be possible to return to Lithuania through two points: as before, through the Kalvarija – Budzisko point, as well as through the reopening of the Lazdijai – Aradninkai point.

People who return to Lithuania and who have visited Poland for work, business or study will not be subject to isolation for 14 days.

The same conditions are created for Polish citizens traveling to Lithuania for work, business or study.

Starting Wednesday – flights

Regular passenger flights will continue at Vilnius airport from May 13. The first two routes from Vilnius airport are Riga and Frankfurt.

At the moment, Germany allows its own citizens to enter the country and those who live or can provide a good reason to travel, that is, not tourists. Additionally, there is a 14-day quarantine requirement in the country.

Both airlines announce that masks or other face protection will be required throughout the flight.

From Friday – after the Baltic countries

Since Friday, May 15, Lithuanian citizens can freely travel to Latvia and Estonia. It will be possible to do this through three points on the border with Latvia: Būtingė – Rucava, Saločiai – Grenctale and Smėlynė – Medumi. Starting May 15, it will also be possible to return to Lithuania through the points mentioned above.

Lithuanian citizens arriving from Latvia and Estonia will not be subject to 14 days of isolation.

Latvian and Estonian citizens can come to Lithuania under the same conditions.

Internal border controls in the European Union have been extended until May 31, so they go abroad you need to have a valid travel document – passport or identity document. Bring with you and a protective mask to use in public places, it is recommended to carry personal hygiene and disinfectant products. Avoid contact unless absolutely necessary.

The SBGS notes that no additional benefits are provided for traveling to Russia, which does not allow foreigners, and Belarus. It is possible to leave for these countries, but returning directly from Lithuania to Lithuania is not.

It is true that in exceptional cases it is possible to return, but only with the permission of the Commander of the State Border Guard Service of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (SBGS) or a person authorized by him. It should be remembered that such cases are individually evaluated by the SBGS upon receipt of the documents in advance.

A person cannot be admitted from Lithuania or a foreigner cannot be admitted if at least one symptom suspected of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is detected during the examination of the staff of the National Center for Public Health.
