At the moment, the Government’s Council of Health Experts does not recommend allowing beauty salons and non-food stores to have a separate entrance from the outside; it is suggested to wait for even better epidemiological results. The Government will decide whether to take this recommendation into account.

The text has been supplemented with information on the quarantine mitigation plan in stages that will be considered by the Government.

A meeting of experts on Tuesday night discussed proposals made by the Commission on Emergency Situations on some relaxation of the global quarantine.

Council member Ramunė Kalėdienė, dean of the Faculty of Public Health at the University of Health Sciences, VŽ reported that “there were particularly differences of opinion regarding the opening of some small shops and hair salons,

Most experts have suggested that beauty salons and small shops with separate entrances from the outside should not be allowed for the moment, because “the incidence of coronavirus remains high and efforts should be made to reduce it first. “.

In the Council’s opinion, small non-food stores with independent entrances from the outside could become operational when 150 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants are reached in the last 14 days. level. At that point, beauty salons could open when the rate drops to 100 cases.

According to data from Wednesday morning, so far 414.9 cases have been registered in Lithuania per 100,000 inhabitants in two weeks.

The government will meet in a meeting Wednesday afternoon to discuss the smooth opening of some stores and beauty salons. Ministers also have the right to ignore or modify the recommendation of the Board of Experts, for example, setting an additional date for the entry into force of the quarantine release measures.

Earlier, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has stated that stores with independent entrance and beauty salons could gradually start opening from February 8 or 10, but this will mainly depend on the epidemiological situation, as well as the advice of health experts. .

On Monday, the government allowed outdoor ski resorts to operate from Tuesday, although, according to VŽ, the board of experts was reluctant to approve.

In the near future, the Cabinet of Ministers should also consider issues related to the return of children from primary school. They are expected to do so at the end of February. And in March, a mixed method of education, that is, distance and contact, can be introduced for final year students.

At the government meeting on Wednesday, among other things, it is planned to consider the release plan from the quarantine phase presented by the Commission on Emergency Situations. It has four stages. Maximum limits apply when the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants exceeds 500.

When this figure is between 100 and 500, then a very symbolic relaxation of the quarantine regime is possible, which should be decided by the Government in light of the experts’ suggestions. Lithuania is currently in this stage called epidemiological C.

If the number of cases reaches less than 100, that is, in stage B, according to the plan, bolder quarantine relaxations are possible, such as limited opening of shops and service points, lifting of the prohibition of movement between municipalities, etc. .

In stage A, when the number of cases is less than 25, the restrictions would be almost eliminated.

The second universal quarantine was introduced in Lithuania on November 7 last year and as of December 16. very tight. Currently, many stores in the country are closed, with the exception of food, sports and leisure venues, restricted movement of people between municipalities and meetings both at home and in public places.

The quarantine and restrictions on movement between municipalities remain in effect until February 28. 24 hours
