Živilė Gudlevičienė, health adviser to Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, announced on the show that after opening some companies early last week, this week he promises to assess the situation and decide whether it is already possible to change the movement restrictions.
“As we said a while ago, with the release of certain businesses, the situation will be monitored for a week. Once the analysis is received, you will see what other steps can be taken. It was on February 15th that we launched our businesses, on the 22nd, a week later, and there will be a time when we can review the situation, whether it is improving or getting a little worse ”, Ž. Gudlevičienė.
Prime Minister I. Šimonytė’s adviser did not agree with the position that some quarantine restrictions are too long.
“I would not say that we are exaggerating with those bans. A lot of care is taken from one situation to another, from one step to the next. And if we look at other countries, they started tightening the quarantine when we started releasing. I would definitely not say that Lithuania is from some exceptional way and resists restrictions. Perhaps those discussions and those masks are taking place so that it is not necessary to use them outdoors, this issue will be discussed at the meeting of the Council of Experts on Monday and will be discussed, “he said. the Prime Minister’s Advisor Ž. Gudlevičienė.

Delphi recalls that last week Prime Minister I. Šimonytė hinted that on Wednesday traffic restrictions could be lifted in all municipalities in the country. This will be addressed by estimating the latest incidence of coronavirus.
The effect is obvious
The psychologist Edvardas Šidlauskas stated on Friday on the radio news program “Aktualusis interiu” that he only sees harm in the restriction of movement.
“Of course, as a psychologist, I only see harm. But here we can see the situation from different angles. If we look at him as a virologist, a doctor, then perhaps we will see greater benefits, in the eyes of an economist we would see other interpretations. The psychologist will say unequivocally that living communication is a fundamental value, a base, a human need. Because only through communication do we become people ”, expressed E. Šidlauskas in the program.
He urged to understand that not so long to communicate is not the norm.
“Virtual or remote communication is only a substitute, like a prosthesis, it will not replace live communication. Of course, there are people who have never needed that communication, but there is a minority of them. A large part of the community is actively used to it. to communicate, socialize, walk to public events. And everything is suspended, it is a great blow. I think that society is like incarcerated by a semi-prison regime, and not in vain is prison a punishment in our lives, it is not a reward, ”he explained.
“I understand that this is a price, but it is very important to weigh and, if possible, not to overpay. I am in favor of mitigation, ”said the psychologist.
Advisor to the Prime Minister Ž. Gudlevičienė emphasized on the show that quarantine also works well.
“Yes, on the one hand, the bad thing is that extroverts are used to communicating more, that’s why they suffer more. But I am the person who tries to see that every situation is a lesson and what it teaches us. As some medical statisticians have calculated, there has been a significant drop in teen suicides in the spring. You see, that situation shows that the children came out of an unsafe environment, the schools where they experience the most bullying, this situation also had a certain impact on the best situation in this area “, Ž. Gudlevičienė.
As several more quarantine conditions, in addition to the prime minister’s health adviser, he mentioned that the rapid transition to technology and the drop in GDP was not so great as to cause significant damage to the economy.
Psychologist E. Šidlauskas agreed that the number of incidents has decreased, but the number of addictions is growing rapidly. And this, according to the expert, already shows the real image of the quarantine.
“There are also advantages, there are no more incidents in schools: fights, serious bullying, because social activity has decreased, children have even begun to learn better. But the opposite also happened. It seems to me that one criterion shows this problem, it is addiction. Gambling addictions have increased dramatically, statistics show. (…) Children are increasingly immersed in computer games. We can measure that, “said psychologist E. Šidlauskas.

Those who want to cheat will reach their goal
Ramūnas Matonis, Head of the Public Relations Service of the Lithuanian Police Department, assured in the program “Thematic interview” that the police were only following instructions, so they could not assess the movement restriction.
“It is difficult to judge unequivocally, we have no other option, we are obliged to implement the decisions that are made. It is to comment on whether those decisions are good or bad, it is not even ethical for us to comment. We just accept them for what they are, trying to make sure we have taken an oath, “said a police spokesman.
For those who say that the restriction of movement between municipalities does not work, R. Matonis provided statistical figures: traffic had decreased by 90 percent during the peak, now it has increased slightly, but is still 70-80 percent lower usual.
“But if you look at the attempts to cheat, you just play here, that there is control. These are several figures, probably the main one being the flow of vehicle traffic. It had been reduced by more than 90 percent during peak hours. That decrease it is now smaller, around 70 to 80 percent, but it shows that people are moving less.
Of course, cheating, avoiding, is always possible, we do not hide it. There is probably no target to catch, to prevent everyone from passing. The goal is to control and reduce the main movement, “said R. Matonis on the show.
Recently, according to police spokesman R. Matonis, motion control has been more active on weekends.
“In January, when there was a peak, we had a lot of reversible drivers. We had a few thousand a day, now that number has really gone down. And there are far fewer of those lost cars. Now that control is more activated on weekends, there really are not many cars turned off on weekdays, we only count dozens, ”said a police representative.
“Hopefully that control will disappear soon and that people can move freely and return to their normal rhythm. And when everyone is vaccinated, we will be able to live like old times,” said R. Matonis.
