even 2 hospitals refused to help the child

I was disappointed twice

The woman claims to have heard various stories, but could not believe that the doctors could close the door right in front of her nose. “It just came to my knowledge then. The child started to swell, so we went to Elektrėnai Hospital. But he couldn’t even take a small child for an exam,” the woman did not hide her outrage.

It was explained that there was simply no doctor to help. Therefore, the hospital has nothing to help.

“He didn’t even ask when he was a child. He proposed not to inject medication for inflammation or call an ambulance. I didn’t get any help at all,” Dovilė shook his heart.

He then decided to seek help at Trakai Hospital. But I was disappointed again.

“The nurse on duty came and said that we could not accept it at this time because there were no doctors, there was no one to see that child …”, the woman recalled. He asked rhetorically, how can the Department of Children’s Diseases of a medical institution function in such a case? After all, young patients have something to take care of.

“It was said that we would not give each other that help, we did not ask how that child was, nothing that the sisters are not interested in,” said Daiva.

So he decided to call an ambulance. They arrived promptly and, according to the woman, marveled at the inactivity of the Trakai Hospital staff.

“After getting out of the ambulance, they asked those nurses why they weren’t taking the little boy, he needed first aid. Well, what do you say, what did you answer? “What am I going to have to sit with him?” I was surprised by the attitude and demeanor of the hospital staff.

Did the doctors really relax like that? Why do you look so indulgently at someone else’s life? Who would be to blame if my child had choked on that swelling? What if first aid was not provided in time? The women did not hide their fears of the worst.

Finally, Daiva thanked the ambulance doctors who arrived urgently. They also provided first aid and took his son to a hospital in Vilnius.

Administrations have different points of view

News portal lrytas.lt contacted the administration of the unassisted treatment facility. The director of the Elektrėnai Hospital Edmundas Niparavičius is currently on vacation. However, the administration’s response deplored the “Accident and Emergency Department incident in which a minor patient was not assisted.”

It is noted that in order to avoid such errors, an unscheduled audit is urgently initiated at the institution in order to find out who is responsible for this case and the circumstances of the incident.

“We want to make sure that our institution provides the necessary care to patients of all ages. We regret the situation and apologize for the experiences lived by the patient and their families,” reads the response from the Elektrėnai Hospital administration.

He also explains that the activities of the Elektrnai Hospital’s Department of Childhood Diseases are currently suspended.

Emergency care with referral from a family doctor to children is provided by a pediatrician on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Urgent assistance (necessary) on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. provided by a pediatrician, on other occasions by an adult doctor of the relevant profile (surgical or therapeutic) within their competence.

At the time, the director of Trakai Hospital, Antanas Česnulevičius, was unwilling to apologize or repent. He only explained that as of July 3 this year. Until the 15 of August. the staff of the hospital’s Department of Childhood Diseases was discharged with annual leave. During this period, the institution’s personal health care license for the provision of child illness services was suspended.

Understand that when a sick child and a scared mother show up at the door of a hospital, there is no one to help.
