On a day off in Dakar, E.Juškauskas and A.Paliukėnas make no secret of who is preparing for the marathon, a two-day trip, when they will not be able to count on the help of mechanics. Last year, the crew didn’t get it, so this test will be new for both of us.

Edwin says that while preparing for the Dakar this year, they realized that a lot depends on themselves, as much as on the metal, that is, the car and its maintenance. “I am very happy that we are working with the Benediktas Vanags mechanics, they are walking with their lips, it is not that they say out of sight that it will be good,” said E. Juškauskas.

A. Paliukėnas said that at the finish they got a motorcyclist whose motorcycle was obstructed, he asked him how he was doing, but he heard that he had had so many adventures during the day that he had already forgotten about it. And with the Chinese, who beat and flew without stopping, Edwin said that he had not even tried to meet Aisvydas. Just as they were in no rush to blame them, they themselves had to be careful.

“I wouldn’t blame him either. Maybe he didn’t see either, we didn’t see. It’s good that there was no speed, because if the wheel broke, then things would start,” said the men.

As such the most difficult moment, they remembered how all three wheels had to change in the first hundred kilometers. So Aisvydas, as Edwin says, maybe a hundred times urged him to be calmer because he really didn’t want to stay on the side of the road. And in the next stage, they loaned the last lap to a colleague, even came back, realizing that they still had one free lap left.

Ž.Pekarskas jokingly asked both of them if they weren’t sorry and led them to the crew, they both laughed that they actually didn’t. “If Aisvydas did not stay in the dunes, then I do not regret it,” quoted A. Juškauskas.

And here A. Paliukėnas told how after a very difficult stage in terms of navigation, one of the Dakar leaders, Carlosa Sainz, left his co-driver at the finish line for a check-up, and one of them addressed the reporters: “ The copilot was walking, he was very angry with his copilot.
