NVSC chief R. Petraitis announced at a press conference on Sunday that there had been a significantly higher number of unaccounted for deaths: 1,171, but assured that the situation was not due to the fault of the institution he ran, but to the lack of timely information provided by hospitals.
The Statistics Department said Monday that a total of 1,950 people have died from coronavirus.
The number of deaths for other reasons is not yet provided, this data is processed by going to the publication of information based on the information from the death certificates, instead of the data provided by the NVSC.
