The Minister said the goal would remain to actively monitor the situation.

A. Dulkys also noted that the first shipment of the AstraZeneca vaccine is already available in Lithuania.
“At this stage, we have decided to use the vaccine as the most effective vaccination scheme; initially we will vaccinate teachers under 55 years of age (…)”, said A. Dulkys.
According to him, the State Drug and Control Service will also provide a conclusion on the age at which the population can be vaccinated with AstraZeneca and the interval between which a second dose of the vaccine is offered. Experts will also be consulted.

A. Dulkys noted that as the virus gradually receded, the number of people testing for characteristic symptoms of infection decreased.
“It just came to our knowledge then. Now we will further expand the voluntary tests, it has already begun to be implemented for educators, specialists who provide psychological assistance and psychotherapeutic services,” said the Minister of Health.

Vaccinations will not be mandatory
Speaking about vaccination against the coronavirus, A. Dulkys said that it would remain a voluntary choice for each person.
“Once again, I would like to emphasize that vaccinations are not mandatory for anyone in Lithuania. Also from the COVID-19 disease. If the feeder has not been vaccinated, it is certainly not mandatory that a prophylactic test is performed. for all groups in society they are only voluntary ”, emphasized the minister.
