“All health care services are related to Covid. Therefore, if we do not achieve any improvement with these quarantine measures, then, of course, other services will suffer even more ”, the minister told parliamentarians during the Government hour in the Seimas.

Not only that, emphasized A. Dulkys, another worrying trend is emerging in Lithuania. According to the minister, there are a growing number of cases in which people with health problems do not go to specialists, even in cases where medical institutions have the opportunity to receive patients.

“There is a growing awareness that people do not even go to medical facilities, even if they have the opportunity to receive them, because the very fear of the virus encourages people not to visit it. This is the other side of the coin,” he explained the minister.

Social Democrat Orinta Leiputė asked at the Minister’s Seimas how the availability of all health services will be guaranteed during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to the Minister, these issues are being addressed in government structures at the moment.

“Even today, all the responsible services were united in a meeting that we coordinated. We are considering measures. As Chief of Operations, I now have the proper authority. We collect information on who plans to work these days and how, what is the situation in primary care, what the laboratories are going to do these days. If necessary, we will make the right decisions, “said A. Dulkys.
