LNK journalists arrived at his home in Ukmergė, where funerals are arranged daily and canceled daily. Ironically tragic, the 66-year-old family man buried in the funeral home refrigerator, and the family – wife, daughter, and elderly mother – closed the house to isolate themselves, as ordered by the National Center for Public Health.

The daughter of the deceased, Giedrė Storpirštė, said that her father tragically left life, a man who did not complain about his health, and when the women of the family left for the guests, they stayed with their mother. They found him lying on the stairs, experts say, his heart suddenly stopped.

The body did not return the body to the family, and on the third day it was reported that COVID-19 had been diagnosed. But the family doubts it because neither the dead nor the survivors feel any signs of the disease, so they do not feel that self-isolation is necessary, but rather follow the instructions.

The daughter of the late G. Storpirštė told LNK that she doubted that her father had been infected with the coronavirus.

“I don’t see it in black on white,” the woman told reporters, assuring her that the labs were sending her to each other.

The body of the deceased is kept at the Ukmergė Funeral Home for several days. Rita Vilutienė, the funeral director, does not hide that she heard about the deceased infected from the National Center for Public Health. Although there is not a word about it on the death certificate.

“Ukmergė is positive (coronavirus test results, aut. P.), All (death certificates, aut. P.) were checked if positive. This is not the main disease that caused death, but it was a diagnosis secondary, ”said R. Vilutienė.

The funeral home states that the deceased, who had been held for almost a week, underwent a new test for COVID-19, but there is still no response.

Repeating the test does not give the family peace either.

“He is taking a test a second time, he should have received a response, but neither the municipality nor anyone informed us,” the daughter of the deceased told LNK.

What the municipality can say, or more precisely, the COVID-19 operations center, is a difficult question.

Valdas Rabazauskas, a senior specialist at the center, said family members should receive official documents indicating that the deceased is an infected coronavirus.

The municipal administration does not manage the information well. Dalė Steponavičienė, Deputy Director of Administration, stated that she did not receive any official information from the National Center for Public Health.

“We do not have any official information from the National Center for Public Health. Because we found out orally on Friday because it has not yet been confirmed. We have to get it, but we do not have it yet,” a representative of the Ukmergė administration told LNK News.

Rolanda Lingienė, director of the Vilnius Department of the National Center for Public Health, ensures that all information about infected people is easily accessible.

“MI. In the health information system, information about a person’s death is, of course, available. And it is also claimed that the person was diagnosed with COVID-19 after death. This is really a fact, After receiving this fact, our specialists contact the relatives of the deceased person, since it is mandatory, he ordered them to isolate, because they had a high risk of contact with the sick person, “said R. Lingienė.

The family of the deceased remains even more surprised. If the first COVID-19 test was positive for the deceased, can there be a second negative repetition? The family claims to have received such an informal response.
