Due to the disturbing situation with the coronavirus, Lingienė appealed to the public: everyone needed help

[ad_1]

R. Lingienė writes on Facebook that NVSC needs everyone’s help.

“Last summer gave hope that the time will not come in Lithuania when hundreds of COVID-19 cases will be recorded per day.

Of course, we had to prepare for it (and did everything we could), but after successfully overcoming the first wave, there were hopes that it would be possible to get along well enough in the fall.

Now is the time to highlight the most important things:

NVSC needs EVERYONE’s help.

Today, a significant proportion of COVID-19 cases are still unresponsive, although it is an ESSENTIAL tool for managing the disease!

The epidemiological diagnosis of the cases and the identification and isolation of the exposed individuals is NECESSARY to break the chain of transmission.

What can we do?

Do not get infected, that is, stay home, limit contacts, follow preventive measures.

In case of illness, isolate, inform exposed people, even if they are isolated, make a list of them, indicating their names, surnames and tel. No., and a list of places visited within 14 days, so that you can provide information to the NVSC as soon as possible, please contact the family doctor about the course of treatment.

We do our best to contact everyone as soon as possible, but at this time we need a great effort from the NVSC and the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the patience and understanding of the population.

In case of high risk exposure, isolate IMMEDIATELY, monitor health status and report to NVSC by completing a questionnaire.

While we wait for a call from specialists, we ask for VERY PATIENCE, because we receive MORE than 1000 lists of people per day.

If symptoms occur, call 1808 immediately.

Be calm, patient, and understanding.

NVSC works very hard for colleagues – they often finish work in the morning and start at 5-6pm in the morning.

Seeing countless negative comments further reinforces employees’ feelings of hopelessness.

They really do their best to protect others from infection …

Timely case identification, isolation, and investigation of exposed individuals are ESSENTIAL infection control measures. We have to do this job from the last – ONLY IF you can control the infection.

IMPORTANT

The ECDC states that even when 1000 cases are recorded per day, EVERY case must be surveyed.

In more than 250 cases, the survey can be conducted by trained representatives of the deployed forces, with regular consultations with public health professionals. With this number of cases, 76-180 employees are needed.

If the number of cases exceeds 1000, your need would increase to 151-359.

In other countries, forces are also used to recruit cases. We are very grateful that the Lithuanian Armed Forces are already helping us to carry out this especially significant work.

Health and social care workers must be especially vigilant to avoid outbreaks that are especially difficult to control.

On behalf of all NVSC employees, we sincerely ask that you BE UNIFORM!

Especially at this critical moment, ”writes R. Lingienė.
