Don’t throw away the egg packets – the expert told you where to use them

There are less than two weeks until Easter, so it’s time to start thinking not only about what food we will put on the festive table, but also how we decorate it. Wedding decorator Roberta Drasutė says that St. Easter trends don’t change:

“All the attributes of this celebration – ceramic bouquet ornaments, onion flowers, Easter grass, eggs – have been and always will be. It all depends on the person himself how he wants to integrate these attributes into the space of his home.”

Match colors

She is convinced that even by playing with seemingly boring elements, she can discover a wide variety of decorating techniques. Sometimes you just have to look at the same thing from a different angle.

“I would dare to say that we are developing these trends ourselves, taking into account what the world breathes. Sustainability, ecology, lower consumption, greater interconnection. Now there are also pandemic currents, which force us to celebrate the holidays in a different way, remotely, without spending too much, paying special attention to lonely relatives at a distance ”, he says.

One way to liven up your festive table is to take advantage of this year’s color scheme: gray and yellow. And it can be done very simply: “For example, use gray textiles (tablecloths, napkins) and soak bright yellow daffodils in a vase,” advises R. Drasutė.

The wedding decorator herself uses a rule of thumb: everything should fit into the table setting, but the table doesn’t have to look the same every year:

“Even such small details as the egg pattern plate pattern, flower color with napkin color, and so on. There really are no specific rules about it. But the whole must be harmonious and effective. For the guest to sit at the table and say, “Wow, how’s everything!”

The rule that I follow every year is to discover something new. You couldn’t always decorate a festive table every year as well. I find what a beautiful plate in the mall and the color is already spinning in my head, what it will look like this Easter. And each year they are different. Some are blue, some are coral, and some may be completely green. Color is exactly what I focus on. “

Use flowers

R. Drasutė says that his st. You can’t imagine an Easter table without eggs and fresh flowers.

“All spring flowers are fascinating, they give a wonderful aroma (daffodils, hyacinths) and the feeling that spring is here. I really like to buy a pot of onion flowers and watch them grow from the very first seedling. When, if not now, can we be happier with them? ”He asks rhetorically.

Therefore, he says that it is not necessary to look for intricate decorations for the Easter table, it is enough to condemn the multi-colored flowers (daffodils, hyacinths, buttercups):

“A clean glass vase spreads water, creates a feeling of coolness and freshness. This is exactly what spring gives us all. If you don’t want cut flowers, I suggest you try the onion flowers in pots, it is much more interesting and fun for longer, ”he smiles.

If you want to diversify or update your Easter table decor, you won’t need a lot of money. It will just take a little of your time and imagination.

R. Drasutė shared how to make a fancy stand out of an egg pack and an egg tray. These two decorations will also decorate the wedding decorator’s festive table this year. Its entire production process is described below and shown in the videos.

Elegant stand made of egg packets

Will need: 1 packet of paper colored eggs, bowl of water, kglue gun, 4 thicker long cables, rinstall wire nozzle, gflowers for decoration of rings or eggs, vfloppy atos and food film if you use a flower ring.

A packet of eggs will be needed to create a grid. If you are planning 4 shelves then you need to take care of 4 egg trays.

To do?

Separate well the 4 parts, that is, the 4 prongs, of the egg packet. The first part will become the base frame of the stand, the second part will perform the masking function and the third and fourth parts will become the outer walls of the stand; these parts will be the most visible.

Part 1:

“It just came to our attention then. We “wrap” its edges beautifully with our fingers using water. The structure should resemble a cone with four petals. With the help of hot glue, we attached four long wires to the four edges from the inside. Later, they will become the legs of the stand, ”he explains.

2 parts:

“It just came to our attention then. We divide it into four separate parts. With the help of water, we form petals with our fingers. You get four separate petals. We hot glue them to the first part from the inside to hide the cables, ”says R. Drasutė.

Paragraphs 3 and 4:

“We form tiles from two peaks. We “wrap” ourselves nicely in water to remind ourselves of the fans. A total of two fans are obtained. They are attached to the resulting structure with hot glue from the outside. In other words, these parts enclose the primary casing, ”he says.

All that was left was to pinch the legs with a pair of pliers and place a flower ring or a liquid boiled egg on the resulting stand. If you are using a flower, cut it short and wrap it in a damp cotton swab and cling film to allow the plant to moisten.

“Convenient, eco-friendly, and beautiful!” Adds the wedding decorator.

Egg tray made of peat pots

Will need: peat cups, plastic plates, hot glue gun, quail eggs with no content inside; a pot with onion flowers; small potting plates (to drain the water)

The number of peat cups depends on the diameter of the plastic dish you choose.

To do?

Disassemble the peat cups: separate the walls from the circular bottom. Arrange all peat cups this way.

“Glue the peat cup liners to the outer wall of the plastic plate. It is important to choose a plate with high and vertical walls (not curved in any way) so that it is easy to stick ”, adds R. Drasutė.

After pasting the outer walls of the board, continue pasting the inner ones. Squeeze comfortably and glue everything together with hot glue.

“When the plate walls are completely hidden and not visible, take the bottom of the plate. Glue the discs, that is, the bottoms of the peat cups that you separated at the beginning, with hot glue. This hides the entire bottom of the plate.

All the walls of the peat cups can already be glued to the bottom thus prepared. Glue together and glue until you see a nice layer of the edges of the plate. Leave the center of the container empty. This is a place for a potted flower with a saucer to drain the water. Use quail eggshells for garnish, ”he says.

At the Easter table, we can use this plate as a bowl to keep the eggs: “All you have to do is add straw, raffia to the empty place where the potted flower was, and you can already lay eggs”, adds R. Drasutė .
