Russians are used to video by now: a modestly equipped cabinet, a couple of non-exclusive armchairs, the Russian flag in the background, and of course Putin, who deals with matters important to the state.
Officially at least, the president does not like to be closed, he usually maintains his image by going to the lands of Russia devastated by floods or fires. Now there is a pandemic in the world, so it is understandable that the work is closed.
However, Putin, according to Proekt, hides from the public the fact that, as before the pandemic, he works not only in Moscow, but also in Sochi, where it is probably warmer and safer. In order not to find out the truth, it is said that two identical cabinets have been installed, as if no one separated.

Data does not match
Once again, the Russian president officially began working remotely in February. To avoid the threat of a coronavirus, Putin settled in his residence in Novo Ogariov, near Moscow.
That is what the official calendar announces, which is being worked on and several consents are being prepared in this House.
But Proekt, citing four sources, reports that an identical office has been set up at another residence, Bočiarov ručej, on the Black Sea coast near Sochi. Putin has been closed there since late summer.

According to journalists, it has repeatedly been the case that the Kremlin’s announcement on the whereabouts of the president does not match the flight data of the presidential planes. For example, on November 2, Putin remotely interacted with a group of school children, and the Kremlin said he was working on Novo Ogariov.
“It is strange because the presidential advisers who are preparing such talks were in Sochi that day. The next day, the presidential plane flew from Sochi to St. Petersburg,” Proekt reported.

The portal also reported that an identical labor cabinet went unnoticed because journalists who normally travel with Putin are now unable to do so due to the pandemic.
Information leaks have increased
Even before the global coronavirus outbreak, Putin worked frequently and completely openly from his residence in Sochi. In this way, the Kremlin encouraged Russians to come to this spa, and the president was also able to receive high-ranking guests in a softer, non-Muslim environment.
“It just came to our attention then. According to the Kremlin, at that time, people have to think that the president is in or near the capital, not in a tourist center,” Proekt writes.
For years, media-sensitive information or alleged compromises have not been converted, and something has changed in recent months.
Ekaterina Shulman, a radio commentator for Echo Moskvy, immediately said that the Proekt report, which appears shortly after a pile of posts on the personal lives of Putin’s environmentalists and members of the president’s family, testifies to a rift between the elite. .
Supposedly for several years sensitive information from the media or the call commitment they have not been converted, and something has changed in the last few months.
“All those items are intended to harm rival clans. The sons of high-ranking officials also fight in this way for positions in government or in state corporations, because the older generation is slowly leaving,” said J. Šulman .
Opposition Alexei Navaln, who is still recovering from an attempt to poison him in Berlin, shared a link to an article by Proekt on Twitter, adding: “Two cabinets are absolutely Putin style: lying even about small things.”

The Proekt portal was founded two years ago by Roman Badanin, a veteran of Russian journalism. The publication is mainly based on anonymous sources; otherwise it is difficult in the country.
“We do what we do best: we find what is hidden. We believe this is important, because there are hardly any media in Russia that cover difficult and dangerous topics,” Proekt presents.
Security measures
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, of course, denies the latest post: that the presidential workspaces near Moscow and near Sochi are not identical.
“This is not true. The president has many offices in different cities. He uses them, they can all be seen. What has been written, I repeat once again, is part of the information campaign, an information attack,” said D Peskov.

However, it is also true that Putin is already very difficult to reach during a pandemic. Journalists working in the Kremlin have seen him only a few times since March.
All those admitted by Putin must be quarantined for two weeks before their stay and then go through a special disinfection tunnel sprayed with antiseptics. In late June, WWII veterans, who were sitting next to the president during the postponed Victory Day parade, also had to self-quarantine.
In mid-June a tunnel was installed at the entrance of the residence in Novo Ogariove. A few weeks earlier, COVID-19 had infected both Peskov and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
