This summer, the Trakai Tourist Information Center and the Lithuania travel portal for Lithuania invite you to get to know not only the sights of Trakai, try the variety of entertainment on offer here, but also travel the entire Trakai district, play a travel game and win prizes, the media reported.
The organizers of the game have selected up to 30 special and exclusive places to visit, which we recommend visiting. In the list of recommendations, you will find the cognitive trails, mounds, springs, museums, churches and other interesting places in the Trakai district.
Travel all summer and visit at least 20 of the 30 recommended attractions for this game. Take note of your smartphone by visiting them. After visiting at least 20 places, you will receive a unique award code, which you can exchange at the Trakai Tourist Information Center for a souvenir that remembers this trip for a long time. This summer in the Trakai district we recommend visiting:
S t. John Paul II Monument in Trakai. September 12, 2015 Trakai St. A monument to Saint John II was consecrated in the Visitation of the Virgin Mary cemetery. The Church of Trakai is on the way for John Paul II’s pilgrims, bearing witness to the saint’s exceptional devotion to Mary today.
Trakai Swing Park. In front of St. A sculpture of Jonas Nepomukas is installed in Swing Park. This is a great place to relax, spend time with children and, at the same time, loved by lovers, one of the most romantic places in Trakai. To further enhance the romantic atmosphere, the park is lit at night with lights that are pleasing to the eye and heart and provide comfort.

Trakai 2020 culture tree. At the center of modern sculpture is a tree that weighs fruit: circles that symbolize various arts. The tree is embedded as in an unfolded book, the openwork surface of which resembles the armor of a medieval warrior. The composition was created by a group of creators: Viktorija Sideraitė, Jūratė Juozėnienė and Albinas Šimanauskas.
Angel Hill is a trail of signs of the millennium. This place of popular piety and spirituality is rich in wooden sculptures of angels, beautiful wrought suns, and trees of life decorated with national symbols. It is planned to place 10 angels on the hill, each dedicated to a century. The kindness and generosity of the people interested in the idea exceeded the expectations of its creators: 18 sculptures of angels appeared on the hill from the beginning, and now there are more than 40. By the way, the hill of angels is now also known as the Millennium Trail.

Sculpture of the Virgin Mary in the park of the Užutrakis mansion. A sculpture of the Virgin Mary with a baby was found in the southern part of the Užutrakis manor park, on the shore of Lake Galvė on a prominent island among small ponds. This marble sculpture adorned the Užutrakis Park for the longest time, around 1964. The sculpture of the Virgin of Užutrakis was still standing. Other sculptures in the park were destroyed or appropriated at the beginning of the second Soviet occupation. 2007 A copy of this sculpture was erected on the original site, made with the efforts of the Trakai National Historical Park.
Park in the forest “Raistas”. Raistas Cognitive Trail is located in a private area. It is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in nature, surrounded by a huge rock that will certainly not leave you indifferent to its beauty and tranquility. The nature trail also has gazebos with barbecues, where you can have a wonderful picnic in the silence of nature.

Skrebio Forest cognitive hiking trail – A great option for those who like forest walks in any weather. The trail is distinguished by a special landscape, biological diversity and archaeological heritage: an ancient mound with a settlement at the foot of the foothills and a complex of 3 burial mounds and a Mosha stream fed by springs. At the information booths you will find detailed information on the trees that grow here, transporting rare plants, live animals, rolling mounds.
Lentvaris Revelation of the Lord. Church of the Virgin Mary. When in 1905. Permission was given to build a church, believers, fearing that the government’s decision might change, built a wooden barracks within 10 days, which would serve as a temporary church. This building was consecrated by the Bishop of Vilnius Edvard von Ropp. Already in 1906. A brick church project was commissioned. Orsino Bongi from Mediolan was chosen as the architect. Clients asked him to design the church in the fashionable neo-Romanesque style, following the example of the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. As early as 1910. Construction of the church began on the land donated by Countess Marija Kristina Tiškevičienė. Due to difficulties due to the complicated political situation and lack of funds, the church project could not be fully implemented. The author of the decoration of the current church is Stefan Narębski.

To the town of Goya S t. Chapel of the Health of the Virgin Mary Pilgrims come not only to pray, but also to inspect the relics kept in it. One of the most important assets of the chapel is the image of the Health of Our Lady of the Sick. This is Vilnius street. A copy of a painting hanging in the church of the Monastery of the Cross in Bonifratra (now the Monastery of the Poor Sisters of Mary), painted in 1936 by Romuald Varachowski. It can be mentioned that a total of about 30 sacred paintings have been published in Lithuania!
Trakai Region Forest Park. On the occasion of Foresters Day, 16 September 2017. A new recreational object was presented: “Trakai Region Forest Park” in the Rop Forestjų forest district of Trakai SFE. The stands installed in the territory are rich in information about the profession of forester, rare plants and animals of our forests. A great place to stop to breathe when traveling from Vilnius to Druskininkai, Varėna or Alytus.
