Among the 28 new coronavirus deaths, and one person under the age of 39, the National Public Health Center (NVSC) reported on Wednesday, the death was recorded in Šiauliai county.
Remigijus Mažeika, the director of the Šiauliai Republican Hospital, confirmed to the portal that the man had died suddenly.
“Often times all deaths from COVID-19 are very sudden. This person has been in the hospital for a while,” he said.
The manager said he was unable to provide more information due to the Personal Data Protection Act.
However, he added that he does not believe this is the youngest case.
“In general, the number of young hospitalized patients is increasing,” he said.
As NVSC representative Justina Petravičienė informed BNS, the deceased had no comorbidities.
Another 28 patients died of other causes
Of the deaths confirmed yesterday, 6 more were recorded in Šiauliai county. The individuals belonged to the age groups 60-69, 70-79 and 80 of 89 years.
6 deaths were recorded in Panevėžys county. The subjects belonged to the age groups 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90-99.

One death was recorded in Utena County. The person belonged to the age group 70 to 79 years.
To date, a total of 547 people have died from COVID-19, in addition, 28 deaths were reported yesterday from deaths from coronavirus from other causes.
