However, like many contests, this one did not go without teasing from netizens. For example, a project was released by silo towers.

“It just came to our attention then. After all, the old town is close, why is it necessary to offer such cumbersome buildings …” Birutė wrote in a public Facebook group.

It seems that after the “renovation / urbanization” there will no longer be a polyclinic, but will take over offices and apartments.

And the silo towers are a joke, ”says Arnas.

“Towers of silos! It makes fun of the obvious and generally found it in the so-called free space and immediately caused some nonsense that overshadowed all the adjacent buildings and the beauty of the Old Town ”, Inga was surprised.

“Or maybe we can just blame the white plastic liner?” David asked.

Location – difficult

M. Pakalnis did not undertake to evaluate the projects, as he is the president of the contest. However, he assured that more work was expected.

“Apparently architects have a lot of private commissions and they no longer have time to participate in competitions,” he said.

According to M. Pakalnis, this object is interesting and the place is exceptional.

“It just came to our knowledge then. Descending from the hill, K. Kalinauskas street has its historical character and constructive principles. Here not only must a functional building be made, but also a good urban solution must be found. When we evaluate the works We will first look at urban problems: how the building “writes” on the environment, “he said.

Rūta Leitanaitė, president of the Lithuanian Trade Union of Architects, also refrained from evaluating the projects of the participants in the tender. It is true that when asked about the number of participants, he thinks that 6 proposals is not the worst case.

“Summer requires a bit of motivation to enter contests. On the other hand, a specific task, perhaps some architects thought it was not their specificity here. I wouldn’t say there are desperately few of those jobs here, not bad. Especially taking into account the recent experience with the parks, how many jobs he got, here it is not so bad ”, she is convinced.

R.Leitanaitė had in mind the tender for the Šeškinė geomorphological reserve, for which two proposals were submitted. There was also a contest in the Sapiega Park, in which a proposal participated, and the commission did not like it either.

The entire exhibition of the works can be seen live until July 30 at the Syndicate of Architects of Lithuania, on the second floor of the building (Kalvarij, St. 1, Vilnius).

July 8 A closed-door meeting of the Evaluation Commission is scheduled.

Happiness was also tested by another project.

It is true that the building of the Polyclinic Center is already incredible not only for the public, but also for the community of architects. In 2019, for the first time, images of a possible annex were submitted to the Vilnius Council of Experts for Architecture and Urbanism (VAUET), which considered it.

It is observed that all the experts present at the meeting stated that the construction of the plot with respect to the streets and the crossing was pending. They also questioned the scale in terms of context and the type of nonsensical construction. VAUET evaluated the work of the project “Projects and Co.”

Subsequently, the authors adjusted the polyclinic project. It is true that it was finally decided to hold an architecture competition.

“The project was bought at the lowest price, the design decisions were criticized and it was decided to tender this place,” said M. Pakalnis.

15 minutes recalls that in 2018 the Vilnius City Council approved the construction of a new annex to the Central Polyclinic, which will be built next to the main building. Doctors from Pylimo Street will move to the new annex. 56 located in the Casco Antiguo branch of the polyclinic.

The preliminary construction cost of the new planned annex is 2.5 million. euros. The cost of upgrading the facilities and medical equipment is approximately 1 million. euros. 200 thousand are planned for this project in 2021. euros.

“The real value of the project will be known only after the preparation of the technical project. We hope that in 2022 the contract works will be purchased and construction will begin “, – 15 minutes said Paulius Vaitekėnas, specialist in media relations at the Department of Marketing and Communication of the Vilnius City Municipality.
