The Statistics Department announced about 503 new daily COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths on Wednesday. In Šiauliai county, 27 people are infected every day. COVID-19 was approved by 13 people in Šiauliai, Akmenė district – 1, Joniškis district – 5, Pakruojis district – 1, Radviliškis district – 6, Šiauliai district – 1. No new cases of the disease were registered in Kelmė district per day.
In Šiauliai county, the highest morbidity remains in Joniškis district: 261 cases in 14 days of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In Šiauliai, this indicator has increased by 10 cases in recent days to 177. The lowest morbidity both in the county and in the country continues to be recorded in the Pakruojis district: 44 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
In Šiauliai, during the entire year of the pandemic, the coronavirus was confirmed in 9347 people, 210 – still ill. The insidious disease has claimed the lives of 198 people.
