Coronavirus was detected in five employees of different Maxima stores

On Friday, November 6, employees in Vilnius, Kaunas, Kėdainiai, Tauragė and Šilutė were infected with the coronavirus. A complete disinfection has been carried out in the workshops where workers sick with COVID-19 worked.

“It is unfortunate that the COVID-19 infection, which is widespread throughout the country, is also not overlooking our employees. Five more Maxima employees were diagnosed yesterday with coronaviruses, but we are very happy that four employees have already have recovered from COVID-19 this week.

The premises of the store where the staff infected with the coronavirus worked were also cleaned and completely disinfected internally. We are consulting with the National Center for Public Health and taking all recommended preventive actions that would help prevent the spread of COVID-19 diseases, ”says Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Communication and Image Department of the Maxima retail chain.

On Friday, COVID-19 infection was detected at Maxima XX store in Vilnius, Tuskulėnų str. 66 employees. He was last at work on October 28. There was no close contact with buyers or other colleagues.

Infected by coronavirus in Kaunas, V. Krėvės ave. The employee of the Maxima XX store in 14B was at her workplace for the last time on October 30. There were no close contacts.

COVID-19 infection was also diagnosed in Kėdainiai, J. Basanavičiaus str. 93C, Maxima XX employees. He last visited his workplace on October 11. There were no close contacts.

COVID-19 fell ill in Taurage, Prezidento str. The 72-year-old store clerk Maxima XX was last working on October 25. There were no close contacts.

Infected with coronavirus in Šilutė, Lietuvininkų str. The 58-year-old store clerk Maxima X was last at her workplace on October 26. There were no close contacts.

Stores where COVID-19 infected workers worked were thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. According to E. Dapkienė, the employees and customers of this Maxima store can feel safe and continue to visit these stores.

A total of 90 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 29 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 1231 employees of the Maxima retail chain have been investigated for COVID-19. There are currently 109 employee test responses pending.
