R. Lingienė also reported that currently 31 people are being treated in hospitals for coronavirus. Lithuanian hospitals are currently treating 31 people for coronavirus, two of them in resuscitation and intensive care units.

Ten new cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed yesterday in Lithuania. Four cases were registered in Kaunas county, three in Vilnius, two in Panevėžys and another case was confirmed in Šiauliai county.

The fourth case was confirmed in Šiauliai County in a person who experienced characteristic symptoms of the coronavirus. How the person became infected is unclear. The epidemiological investigation is continuing, collecting information on exposed persons.

It is also unclear at this time how someone else got infected in Vilnius County. According to preliminary data, one person was at high risk of close exposure. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

Furthermore, the circumstances of another case in Vilnius County are still unclear. Epidemiologists are currently conducting a study and the information needs to be updated.

Of those infected after contact with the sick, five, three of them, were linked to outbreaks

The seventh case was confirmed for a Panevėžys County resident who had contact with patients with the COVID-19 disease. This case is symptomatic. Two people had close contact. This case is related to the outbreak at a sheriff’s office in Panevėžys. This is already the sixteenth case, including the day confirmed yesterday.

In Lithuania: the 81st death

The NVSC reports that a person infected with coronavirus has died at the VUL Santara clinics. This is the 81st death in the country. The deceased belonged to the age group 50 to 59 years.
