An employee was diagnosed with coronavirus on Friday night. Information was received on Saturday afternoon that the other four members of the school’s staff had not been diagnosed with the infection.
“The vast majority of our progymnasium teachers and other staff performed antibody tests, and five staff members received responses that their antibody result was positive. All of them also tested for coronavirus.
Last night the employee herself called me and told me that her coronavirus test was positive. The National Center for Public Health contacted me immediately.
Yesterday we identified all the people who were in contact with the teacher. These are 21 students. Students from five different classes had sessions with this progymnasium worker at separate times.
The classroom in which the sessions took place was disinfected after each flow of students. Classes were held in small groups of up to 5 students, so a safe distance was maintained between the students and the teacher. The teacher wore a protective mask during the lesson. The only element of risk was that the contact lasted more than 15 minutes. We hope that the infection will not spread, “said Tereza Sotnik, director of the progymnasium.

The director stressed that for two weeks these students must isolate themselves at home, study and do their homework independently based on the information that teachers will collect in an electronic diary.
“The teachers of the five classes yesterday informed the children of the parents about the situation at school, all these children will study at a distance. Your health will be monitored for two weeks; if cold symptoms develop, parents should inform the school immediately and call the coronavirus hotline at 1808. We are currently awaiting further instructions from specialists.
All employees feel fine, they do not feel cold symptoms and have not felt recently, a sick employee also feels fine, ”said the director.
According to her, the sick teacher had no contact with other members of the school staff.

We have a real threat of being infected with the coronavirus, so it is very important to protect yourself and others, follow all instructions, use the masks correctly. This is a very important warning not only for us, but for all educational institutions. We hope that, in our case, strict school procedures will allow us to minimize the risk of the spread of the coronavirus and that the disease does not spread further, ”said T. Sotnik.
