Coronavir was detected in Maxima employees in Vilnius, Šiauliai and Palanga

A complete disinfection has been carried out in the shops where workers infected by coronavirus have worked.
“In recent weeks, there have been a growing number of COVID-19 infections among our employees across the country. Yesterday, three more Maxima employees were diagnosed with coronavirus. Store facilities and other units where coronavirus-infected workers worked have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected internally. An employee of a food production workshop in Vilnius, who was diagnosed with COVID-19, last visited the workplace on October 26 and was in self-isolation because he had close contact with a sick colleague. He underwent a COVID-19 test on October 28. In this unit, four more employees are in self-isolation.

The coronavirus-infected Maxima XX stores located in Šiauliai, Tilžės str. 225, the employee last visited her workplace more than a week ago, on October 21. He underwent a COVID-19 test on October 29. A colleague who may have been in contact with an infected COVID-19 was isolated.

Maxima stores and other locations where COVID-19 infected staff worked have been completely disinfected. “Today, we meet extremely strict hygiene requirements: shopping carts, baskets and other miscellaneous surfaces are regularly sanitized, and fresh air circulation is increased for store ventilation. Employees are informed of additional recommendations for avoid direct contact with each other and to maintain a safe distance. Maxima has special coronavirus insurance for its current and future employees. Employees receive the necessary protective equipment: medical masks or safety shields, gloves, hand sanitizing liquids. Temperature is measured daily for Maxima employees. If employees feel unwell, have symptoms of a cold or the flu, they are asked to stay home.

Currently, the flow of shoppers entering the stores is limited in Lithuania. Shoppers are asked to keep a safe distance of 2 meters in stores, not to forget to wear protective masks, disinfect their hands and wear free disposable gloves, which can be found at the entrance. All Maxima stores have free access to a protective mask. Free face masks will be distributed until November 11.

A total of 62 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 24 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 956 Maxima employees have been investigated for COVID-19. Currently 76 employee test responses are pending.
