When preliminary information became clear that Uzbeks who had arrived in Kaunas with a coronavirus infection had visited the commercial city “Urmas”, an investigation was launched to determine if their employees were infected.

Paulius Keras, head of the Kaunas City Municipality Emergency Operations Center, confirmed to the kauno.diena.lt portal that the employees of the commercial city of Urmas are being inspected.

“Yes, it is true. That is what we do.” Starting tomorrow, Urmo employees will be evaluated according to the lists compiled by the Urmo administration, “said P. Keras.

When asked to clarify available information about Urmo employees’ contacts with infected Uzbeks, Keras said he was unable to confirm and indicate how many people were infected with the virus and how many times he had visited the city.

“We have secondary information. We get information from NVSC, better ask them themselves. It would be unethical for me to comment [jų darbo rezultatus]Keras said.

He added that he had no information about “real contacts, about threats” for Urmo employees. “But knowing the initial information that there was a visit, we agreed with the administration that we would direct the preventive investigation to” Urma “and other places, if it is clear where these citizens visited,” Keras said.

He has not yet been able to appoint a specific number of Urmo employees to be tested for coronavirus. “We are just compiling and analyzing that situation. The Urmo administration is only compiling the lists. In a few days, we will see what the final numbers of people who may have been in contact could be, “Keras said.

Today, it turned out that a total of 19 employees of Hegelmann Transporte, a transport services company, and the people who came to work there were infected with the coronavirus. Most of them are Uzbeks. It can be seen that they were infected not in Lithuania, but came here already ill.
