The Rukla PPC family constantly received medical assistance, necessary medications, social workers and a psychologist.

On the morning of September 26, the boy’s father reported that the boy’s deteriorating health was difficult to breathe. An ambulance was called, who immediately transferred the boy, along with his father, to a medical institution, where he died.

According to B. Bernotienė, director of Rukla PPC, in a press conference held on Sunday, upon arrival in Lithuania on August 6, the boy and his father were immediately transferred from the border to Rukla PPC, because “the child had a disability and was lying down. “

“Today, around 9:30 am, we received information from the Jonava Hospital that a migrant born in 2010 had died and was living with us. We are all shocked by this loss. We really sympathize with my father for the loss of the child in Lithuania, ”said B. Bernotienė.

According to her, the father and son lived in the fixed building in the center, they had a separate room and a shower, a toilet.

There were riots on the eve

When asked about the riots in the center the day before and whether they were related to today’s disaster, B. Bernotienė denied it. According to her, on September 25, several migrants tried to withdraw from Rukla PPC.

“This is not the first time. These two events have no relationship,” said B. Bernotienė.

On the same Sunday, the Minister of the Interior, Agnė Bilotaitė, confirmed that the death and the disturbances of the child are not related. According to her, yesterday’s incident is being investigated by the Police and the Public Security Service.

“Riots arise from time to time in the constant camps, because people are not satisfied, because their goal is probably not to stay in Lithuania, they want to go to other countries,” said the minister.

According to her, not all migrants are satisfied with the housing conditions, but the Interior Ministry is doing everything possible to improve those conditions.
