As Prime Minister candidate Ingrida Šimonytė reported to reporters after the meeting, she said the deal could be signed on Monday.

“The negotiating delegates in the negotiations seem to have almost reached a consensus on the text. We have edited this and that, we have changed with that text, we need people to look a bit at what has been lost. (…) Currently there are procedures that go to function according to the statutes of each party are different.

The parties must return to their governing bodies to obtain approval for this agreement in the coming days. And if unforeseen circumstances do not arise, the contract could be signed on Monday, “said I. Šimonytė.

The politician said that the coalition agreement would not contain the names of the ministers, only themselves, the future prime ministers.

“The draft agreement stipulates that there will be an additional agreement (on ministers, aut. P.), to be signed as soon as we can sign,” said the politician.

If the parties do not approve these agreed points, the negotiations, according to I. Šimonytė, should be resumed.

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, president of the Liberal Movement, said after the meeting that all parties are satisfied.

“First of all, we are pleased to have reached an agreement on the remaining 20 percent tonight. After such a difficult and very rational discussion, I see it as a victory for all the coalition partners,” the politician valued the talks.

He announced that the coalition agreement would contain many “specific things and provisions.”

“Our aim was to reflect both the general principles, which are really close to us as coalition partners, and the specific provisions,” said liberal V. Čmilytė-Nielsen.

Aušrinė Armonaitė, leader of the Freedom Party, was delighted that the 5 priorities raised in the elections of the party he led were featured in the agreement.

“It seems to me that we managed to agree that the text of the agreement would be about the future of Lithuania. So far the immediate: the health crisis, the possible economic crisis and the budgetary priorities. Too much for the future in education, human rights, economy and things for the style. From the point of view of the Freedom Parties, I can say that the 5 priorities that we have always made known are in this agreement, “said the politician.

According to the member of the Seimas, the text also contains the promise to legalize the spelling of personal names in Latin characters.

After the right-wing Seimas Electoral Center, the ruling coalition is made up of the Lithuanian Christian National Democratic Union, the Liberal Movement and the Freedom Party. In the new parliament, they should have at least 74 seats out of 141.

The first session of the new Seimas and the swearing-in ceremony of the parliamentarians will take place on November 13.
