“They are not only convenient because they provide an answer in a few minutes, but they are also almost 3 times cheaper than the ones used now.

I hope that SAM will soon present the conditions to manage the flow of people, maintain a safe distance, the necessary public health, safety, hygiene, provide people with the necessary personal protective equipment in the Seimas, compliance with which would ensure safe work and uninterrupted from the Seimas during this important period for the state, “wrote V. Čmilytė -Nielsen.

According to the president of Seimas, the minister’s proposal to close Seimas for two weeks is not a solution.

“Yes, today we have decided to take a break from Wednesday to Thursday of next week to prepare for the full and safe work of the Seimas and to make sure that the MPs gathered at the Seimas are not infected and have the opportunity to take the test.”

There are many pressing issues on the Seimas agenda. Starting with next year’s budget, the change of government and, most importantly, the fight against the coronavirus. Today, unfortunately, it is already available to everyone due to measures that were not taken in time, ”wrote V. Čmilytė Nielsen.

The whole liberal faction isolated

As already announced, over the weekend, members of the Liberal Movement received reports from the National Public Health Center (NVSC) that they had been exposed to COVID-19 and needed to isolate themselves. Following the NVSC’s self-isolation instructions, the Liberal Movement faction will begin working remotely this week.

According to the eldest of the faction Eugenijus Gentvilas, today the members of the faction wanted to take the tests and, if they were all negative, assess the possibilities of returning to work at Seimas. However, MPs were not allowed to take the test.

“Constant testing would help to show a more real threat, but unfortunately we were not allowed to conduct further testing at the Seimas. My colleague Ričardas Juška and I tested at moving spots over the weekend. His test was negative again, I’m still waiting for an answer, “E. Getvilas is quoted in the party’s press release.

Last week, the 13 MPs from the Liberal Movement were tested against J. Varkalis for the first case. Seimas President V. Čmilytė – Nielsen and Seimas member V. Pranckietis received positive responses. The tests of the other 10 MPs were negative.
