In mid-July Laura de Vilnius and her family decided to go on vacation by the sea, only this time they exchanged their vacation in Lithuania with Poland and met Gdansk. The direction of the holiday was dictated not only by the fact that Poland was considered safe for the coronavirus at the time, but also by the positive comments from colleagues, the desire to know the entertainment offered by the coast of the neighboring country and whether It is really cheaper to spend a vacation here.

According to Laura, a full week’s vacation in Poland costs around 970 euros. The family paid around 370 euros for food in restaurants, shops and entertainment, 173 euros for a 3-day rental in Gdansk and 424.17 euros for a 5-day rental in Vladislavov by the sea.

During this time, the family visited the old town of Gdańsk, the World War II Museum, observed the panorama of the city from a visual circle, tasted local dishes, and visited Sopot and the longest wooden pier in Europe.

“There were a lot of people, but we noticed that most Poles travel, and in other languages ​​they lost their hearing.” We were lucky with the accommodation: we usually rent apartments and holiday homes through AirBnb, and this time just 10 minutes drive from the center of Gdansk we found a two-bedroom apartment with a beautiful terrace, which cost us only 44 euros per day . When we lived by the sea, we had to pay more than 80 euros a day, but these places are different day and night. The apartment by the sea may not be bad, but small, there were problems due to the lack of tools ”, compares Laura.

The family lunch costs between 20 and 40 euros.

However, the woman noted that this year prices on the Polish coast are high compared to Croatia and Italy, where the average cost of a country house or apartment was 60 euros.

“We like to live beautifully and comfortably so that the apartment is decent, with a washing machine and a kitchen. This year, the prices of country houses on the Polish coast start from 100 euros, ”says Laura.

During the holidays, the family also rested from the kitchen, so they ate lunch and dinner at local restaurants, coffee shops and bought something from the store for breakfast. According to Laura, prices here vary depending on where you eat.

“We compared the prices. It costs about 40 euros for a whole family of three to eat in a better restaurant, with food and drinks. We also wanted to try traditional Polish cuisine, and we paid more than 20 euros for them, but it was not very good there Of course, you can never know when you travel, “she says.

The coronavirus situation in Poland is worsening
