A decade ago, G. Balčytytė was the spokesperson for I. Šimonytė, then head of the Ministry of Finance. According to the social network LinkedIn, she has also worked at the Washington-based World Bank, a division for the Nordic and Baltic countries, and in 2017-2018 as an expert in development and cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most recently, she worked for Norway Registers Development, a Norwegian-based legal, consulting and project management firm, as a director of global consulting strategy.
Ieva Skarelytė, who previously served as Rapporteur for the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union (TS-LKD) in the Seimas, was also appointed Head of the Prime Minister’s Office since Monday, and was also assistant to the President of the TS-LKD Gabrielius Landsbergis in the Seimas.
Earlier, the prime minister’s team was supplemented by a spokesperson, Rasa Jakilaitienė, who had previously worked as a public relations advisor to former Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius.
