Cellophane is still all the rage: spreading lies about officials?

Antanas Kandrotas of Kaunas, nicknamed Celofan, who has been convicted and is currently on trial on several occasions, has publicly offered 100 euros to those who make public the tear gas sprayed on people during the riots. Those incentives seem to have paid off: a photo of an official accused of throwing stones and causing disturbances has started to spread on the internet. The police soon reacted to this absurd lie.

Financial purposes

As announced on the kauno.diena.lt portal, the Kaunas resident, who called himself Celofan, spread false information the day after the riots: he spoke of a protester who received tear gas, who allegedly died of clinical death. Also about the fact that during the riots, the officers also used rubber bullets. All this information was denied by the police.

Kandrotas publicly resented the actions of the police until he finally released the financial proposal.

For a policeman who attended there and sprayed, we can pay 100 euros for his photo.

“We received such an offer, people also offered money to publish the names of the policemen who participated in the fumigation of people. Now there is an initial offer: for a policeman who was there and sprayed, we can pay 100 euros for his photo, ”he said.

When asked what he thought of Celofan’s offer to offer 100 euros each for the public identity of the officers, the police representative stated that he still had no information on this fact. However, he recalled that the officials were fulfilling their functions.

“The police monitor public space and urge people not to give in to such initiatives,” said R. Janavičiūtė.

Initiator and author of persecution

Skirmantas Malinauskas, a former adviser to Saulius Skvernelis, also reacted to the information that appeared in the media and in public space. On his personal Facebook account of the social network, he wrote:

“One of the themes for the next episode, but I still see that it’s not worth the wait. Cellophane publicly offered 100 euros for the personal data of each Public Safety Officer who defends the Seimas. He had previously shown how he offered € 500 to someone who would douse Paul’s demo with gasoline. Before that, he had already shown how he publicly threatened other people. An uninformed official is currently spreading online. Photo. Specifically, he worked with the badges during the event, and when riots broke out, he took them off and worked through the crowd to record the violations. The initiator and author of all this persecution is the one I have mentioned many times. A lie is spread that the officer allegedly threw stones causing the riots and this is not confirmed by anyone. No photo or video. We are basically going after someone who has protected us from the assault of many convicted criminals. “

According to S. Malinauskas, there is much evidence that convict A. Kandrotas has organized and participated in riots many times. It is true, as events unfolded, behind the backs of the people summoned.

“There is a lot of evidence of your threats and calls to deal with now. Everyone sees this action and the simple question is: is it legal? If so, I am prepared to use my available resources in a similar way against this trifle. In doing so, I would feel on the same bottom as Kandrot, but in war as in war. If it is illegal, how long will the police monitor it and take no action? If not defending citizens, at least defending officials who have risked their health? “He asked on the social network.

The initiator and author of all this persecution is the one I have mentioned many times.

“According to the SSD, decision makers have received information on all these actors since March. President (although no, this is not the case), prime minister, president of Seimas, do you realize that the rule of law is not A state in which a criminal can run? On the contrary, it is a state in which this is avoided as quickly as possible. You had the information, but there was not enough determination to do anything about it until the blood was spilled. And You haven’t learned anything yet, ”the famous man resented.

Unmasked a lie

On the night of August 13, the Vilnius County Police Chief Commissariat (VPK), in response to information that appeared on social media and misled the public, distributed a report. It notes that a police officer captured in the published photos participated in the dialogue group during the riots near the Seimas.

“The members of the Dialogue Group are civilian-clad officials who tied ribbons with the words” Dialogue Group “on their hands. One of the main functions of the police dialogue group is to identify people in conflict in a mass event, communicate with them and prevent possible violations.

Social networks wrongly state that the captured officer is a participant in the riots, but none of his videos or photos record his actions directed against the officers or participants in the riots, ”explained the representatives of the Vilnius County LSC.
