The working hours of the commissions are also extended by one hour: voters will be able to vote in advance days starting at 7 am. in the morning until 8 pm In the afternoon. This should not only help regulate voter flows and avoid congestion, especially in municipalities in large cities. At the same time, it will be a great opportunity for voters to plan their time, come comfortably to the place of their choice, and fulfill their civic duty.

On October 7, 8 and 9, voting will be held at special points: hospitals, social and welfare institutions and places of execution.

On October 9 and 10, the members of the electoral commissions will organize the voting at the voters’ house. This year, the circle of voters entitled to vote at home has been expanded by two additional groups of people. People who care for the disabled at home and voters in self-isolation due to Covid19 have the right to vote at home. As before, during these Seimas elections, voters aged 70 and over who cannot work due to illness or disability will be able to exercise their right to vote at home.

On the main election day, October 11, voters are invited to express their civic will to their constituencies, which will begin work at 7 p.m. in the morning and voting will last until 8 p.m. In the afternoon.

It is necessary to have an identity document and a protective device that covers the mouth.

The CEC recalls that when voting, voters must bring an identity document, wear a face shield that covers their nose and mouth, and have their own personal pen. For those who forget to bring writing instruments, multiples will be provided at the voting table, which will be periodically disinfected by members of the electoral commissions.

Voters at risk are advised to attend during voting hours in the morning, that is, from 7 am to 9 am, when there are fewer people at the polling stations. It is also advisable not to bring other non-voting persons to the voting table, try not to meet, and maintain a safe distance of at least one meter from members of the electoral commissions and other voters.

The CEC will use election volunteers to ensure the safest environment possible in and near polling stations. These civilians will come to the aid of election organizers to help regulate the flow of incoming voters, take care of the elderly or disabled who have arrived at polling stations, direct voters who have already voted to the next exit (if equipped ) or otherwise help avoid voter confusion. inside the room and prevent the virus from spreading.
