The prolonged quarantine has particularly affected the sports and health sector. Sports clubs are closed, and in the cold winter, not everyone has the opportunity and desire to exercise outdoors. We all have to be careful and try to be at home, but a passive life can cause serious problems for people, so one of the best solutions is to train online.

Sveikas miestas decided to take the initiative and surprise Vilnius companies by giving them free online trainings with professional trainers.

Starting this week, every Tuesday and Thursday at 5 pm there will be training for company employees.

“While the quarantine continues, we invite company employees at home, however difficult, to join in the free online exercises that take place each week. We hope that they will increase people’s ability to work and that the status of mood is much better, ”says Karolina Dilytė, Healthy City’s communication manager.

Trainings for company employees will be given by professional trainers.

“Sports clubs are already closed and the best we have at the moment is online training or advice. We basically turned our gym into a huge online training studio. As part of one of the projects, we conduct trainings for children, the elderly, and the disabled, as well as working with our existing clients to maintain their general physical activity and psychological stability. We also started working with companies. “Sveikas miestas” took an interest in our activities and decided to make Vilnius companies happy, “said Rokas Milevičius, director of the Amber Crossfit sports club.

Currently, several employees work from home, so such training contributes to the formation of a corporate team. “Most of the company’s employees come together, exercise together and thus activate their day,” added the famous Lithuanian sailor R. Milevičius.

Most of the workouts are done through the most popular Zoom platform. The gym has a big screen so coaches have a chance to have their say. Not only do they lead the workouts, but they also see all the participants in the training and try to communicate and correct if something is done incorrectly.

“This creates a more welcoming environment that involves more participants. I think this is a great opportunity for companies to contribute to the health of their employees and their activity ”, emphasized R. Milevičius.

There will be two types of sessions for companies in the training cycle. One of them will be mobility training. It is of lower physical intensity with characteristics of yoga and callanetics. This training is very suitable for people who do sedentary work because it improves people’s mobility, increases the range of movements.

“This training is very useful for those who do not want to do very intense sports at home or do not have the opportunity to do so. You need a yoga mat or just a floor. At least in the first training sessions, you will not need additional tools, “said R. Milevičius.

Other workouts will be Crossfit or Circle Training. It will be a more intense workout that increases the work of the heart. These workouts burn more calories and significantly increase people’s physical activity.

“The training itself is done with your body weight. For those of you who have extra inventory at home (dumbbells, weights, or rubber), we’ll show you variations on how to do the same exercises with more force. But from the beginning, all exercises will be tailored to your body weight, “explained R. Milevičius.

All Vilnius companies have the opportunity to register for trainings and participate in the entire training cycle. The duration of a workout will be about 45 minutes. After the training, all participants will have the opportunity to view the activities on the YouTube platform at their convenience.
