Meghan and Harry in an interview with American talk show host Oprah Winfrey were broadcast in the United States on Sunday and in the United Kingdom on Monday. Queen Elizabeth II issued an announcement Tuesday night. “The issues raised, especially those related to racism, are worrying,” said the 94-year-old monarch.

The Telegraph commented that the words chosen by the queen showed “that the family does not agree with everything that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said.” The queen’s statement read: “While some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be discussed privately by the family.”

Elizabeth II said “the whole family is saddened to learn how many challenges Harry and Meghan have posed in recent years.” Her grandson and Meghan and their two children Archie “will always be very dear family members.”

The Times wrote: “While the statement, as expected, emphasizes the family’s love for Harry and Meghan, the end result is clearer than many imagined.” The House does not agree with all the accusations. The Queen’s newspaper The Sun chose the quote “Some memories may be different” as a title to highlight ongoing disagreements.

Meghan’s interview revealed what was in the royal family’s conversations about “what will your child’s skin color be” during her pregnancy. In addition, the 39-year-old former actress said that she was plagued with suicidal thoughts due to the constant negative media coverage in the British media, but if she was not allowed to turn to a psychologist so as not to damage the image of the royal family. Harry said he felt “left to the will of fate” by his father, Prince Charles.
