For 13 years in a row, the International Vilnius Women’s Association (IWAV) has been taking the “Blooming Hope” initiative. This initiative is designed to improve the diagnosis of breast cancer.

As every year, the initiative will be crowned on October 9 by a solemn act of solidarity entitled “Night in Venice”.

The funds raised during the initiative will be used to purchase the tools necessary to improve the early diagnosis of breast cancer. This gives oncologists the opportunity to work with innovative diagnostic tools. Much attention is also paid to encouraging women to monitor their health and to remind them of the importance of preventive medicine.

The initiative is sponsored by the country’s First Lady Diana Nausėdienė.

The presentation of the initiative was attended by: Goodwill Ambassador, Director of the National Cancer Institute prof. Dr. Sonata Jarmalaitė, Goodwill Ambassador Ambassador of Finland Arja Inkeri Makkonen, Goodwill Ambassador President of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee Daina Gudzinevičiūtė.

For 13 years, the Vilnius International Women’s Association has brought together the Lithuanian and international business, artistic, diplomatic and medical communities to support the treatment of breast cancer in Lithuania.

The charity initiative helped raise more than 260,000. euros, for which the purchased equipment was donated to Lithuanian cancer hospitals.

The goals of this year’s initiative are twofold: to raise awareness of the importance of health promotion and early diagnosis, including routine mammography, and to raise funds to improve breast cancer treatment to cover the cost of one year. of tissue markers.

The “Blooming Hope” event is organized by the Vilnius International Women’s Association, which brings together the wives of foreign embassy employees and businessmen from more than 25 countries and active Lithuanian women living in Lithuania. Through its voluntary activities, the association helps solve social problems in Lithuania.
