“I don’t even know which factor is more dangerous at the moment. We are anxiously monitoring how many officials were returned (migrants). We understand that these people are not going anywhere. They both remain grouped there and it is a matter of time before those groups try to invade or assault our officers, “J. Amelin, head of the border guards union, told” News of the Day. “

The Border Guard Representative hopes his leadership has a Plan B and is preparing for that, both in terms of forces and measures. In his opinion, everyone should know how to deal with such a situation.

“Now what I hear from officials is that they are just not quite sure what they are going to do and whether what they are going to do will benefit. Because if not, we will have very large groups with us and then the question arises as to whether their storage locations will be insured, ”said J. Amelin.

At the same time, the head of the border union acknowledged that the decision to turn back the migrants was paying off.

“We have been monitoring the situation for three days, she is happy. There are a lot of migrants invested because we are supposed to be happy about it. But, as he pointed out, this is a tune-up bomb, ”Amelin said.

Official safety is a concern

The head of the border guards union explained that the safety of the officials is his main concern.

“We receive reports from officials that sometimes it happens that the number of migrants and their personalities (concerns -” Delphi “). Because if it is a family, it is safer. They tend to be less aggressive, they are with children, they are women, they are a a separate matter, and it’s easier with them.

If it is about men between 35 and 40 years old, and there are a large number of them, and guarded, for example, by two officers, in this place we are already reacting to this kind of thing, talking to the firewall management to increase the number of officers. Perhaps, if possible, they would be assigned soldiers from the National Defense Volunteer Force or members of the Rifle Union, officials from the Public Security Service, “said J. Amelin.

According to the interlocutor, now the hottest spot in Lithuania is the firewall of the Varėna national team.

“I would not highlight one or a couple of firewalls. All the firewalls of the Varėna national team, except those located on the internal border, (…) are migrants, and the number is considerable,” said J. Amelin.

There is a lack of border guards

Lithuania seeks to strengthen the ranks of the border guards. The State Border Guard Service (SBGS) proposes to become a border guard in just four weeks. They would both take abbreviated training. The training usually lasts fifteen weeks.

The director of the border school explained that the monthly salary of 810 euros is only the minimum, the bonuses are paid to us for overtime, under certain conditions.

Therefore, not only residents of the border region could prove themselves as border guards. , but also from other regions ”, said D. Kaminskas.

In addition, according to him, the statute of the Internal Service provides for payment in cash, the uniform is free.

“The cadets who will study at the school will receive a dormitory, a free scholarship and good conditions have been created for practicing sports during the courses,” said D. Kaminskas.

Commit to work in the service for at least three years.

A tripartite agreement is concluded between the internal service with all those who enter the border school, introductory courses. It states that the cadet must have worked in the home affairs system for three years. If you do not work, you will have to reimburse the costs incurred by the state for the studies.

The director of the Border Guard School clarified that after completing these trainings, he will be employed in the units near the border between Lithuania and Belarus and in the Foreigners Registration Center.

According to the head of the Border Guard School, the age limit for primary school officials is 60, so this should not be an obstacle. According to the interviewee, the main factor in choosing this profession is health and fitness.
