“The Prime Minister and the Minister of Health announced their intentions to introduce quarantine this week. And look at the reaction of many of our people,” V. Blinkevičiūtė told Knowledge Radio.

“We cannot say that we will inevitably have to go back to quarantine without saying what the content will be. People immediately remember the previous quarantine, when there were huge restrictions, an alarming matter. Certain decisions need to be taken now by agreement, but there is no need for prior intimidation here, “he said, adding that the I. Šimonytė government has not made any decisions this week.

“No decisions have been made this week as a result of such riots, and a promise has been made that a decision will be made at next week’s government meeting,” he said.

V. Blinkevičūtė, who has been raising the ratings recently, treated the government’s speeches on the need to introduce a quarantine regime to return the mandatory use of masks as a communication error.

To say that the announcement of the quarantine will be really inevitable … But the content to the people (Government – ELTA) did not say (…) Everyone imagines that there will be a return to the old quarantine, as it has been “Until now”, he said the social democrat, who in this situation, it is the decision-making power to handle the COVID-19 crisis that is to blame, and not the people who avoid vaccination or discourage others from doing so.

“I will never blame people because people are infinitely tired and psychologically tired. The clarity of the authorities is simply necessary, “he emphasized.

Meanwhile, I. Šimonyte, who last week seemed angry with the population of the country, not only avoiding, but also urging others not to get vaccinated, the president of the LSDP did not want to give up.

“I would like to add their hands. When the proposal of the postman and the nurse to vaccinate an elderly man is told that children do not allow … In no way should one rely on an example, perhaps not always the right one. However, there are very good examples when a hundred members of the community are vaccinated thanks to the active medical community ”, said the politician.

He evaluated the relationship between the rulers and the president: this is the third crisis in the country

In the context of managing the pandemic, V. Blinkevičiūtė also assessed the current relations of the rulers with President Gitanas Nausėda. According to her, the relationship between the two camps is like the third crisis in the country.

“There is a constant dissatisfaction of the rulers with one or another declaration of the president that the state should behave in one way or another. I do not want to comment on these things today, I only wish that the rulers had normal relations with the presidents, because the Lithuanian people need it when there are not two but three crises in the country ”, summarized V. Blinkevičiūtė.
