Charite reports that A. Navalnas gradually disconnects from the artificial lung ventilation device, responding to verbal stimulation. However, it is still too early to assess what long-term health consequences await the opponent.

The hospital report states that A. Navaln’s condition has “improved”.

Navaln, a 44-year-old critic of the Russian authorities, felt ill on August 20 when he was on a plane flying from Tomsk to Moscow. When the plane rushed to land in Omsk, it was transferred to a hospital in that city.

Navalno’s comrades say he may have been poisoned by something he had in his teacup at Tomsk airport. On August 22, the opposition was transferred to the Berlin clinic “Charite”.

Last week, the German government announced that the investigation showed that Navaln had been poisoned with the nerve-paralyzing substance Novičiok. In 2018, the substance was used in the English city of Salisbury to poison former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia.
