“Everything has changed significantly since the announcement of the quarantine: the work has been reduced by approximately 50%, there is no more traffic. We balance on the edge of survival. (…) When it closed during the first quarantine, there was news, we did not know what to do. Now let’s work, we no longer have a job. I don’t know how we will live. We have not yet recovered after the first quarantine and we are conducting a second test. Soon there will be no more people working, because there will be nothing to work for, ”he told Eltai.
J. Mačiulienė also made fun of the fact that the government still listened to the wishes of beauty specialists.
“The beauty salons stayed working probably because we struggled so much to let them work. Now you’re probably thinking, that’s it. We feel like chess pieces are being pushed, ”he said.
However, the beauty specialist noted that the government’s attempt to protect the health of the Lithuanian population is welcome, but lacked support for business.
“The government’s attempt to protect us all from this pandemic is welcome (…). However, that strong support from the government (financial – ELTA) during the first quarantine in the spring, when it was not allowed to work, in comparison With the management of COVID-19 now, during the second wave, it looks different. Although the government has closed fewer sectors, allowing them to work does not provide the necessary benefits in the face of decreasing customer flows. “I hope something will change”, he told Eltai.
J. Mačiulienė does not expect the outgoing government to rush to make amendments to improve the situation.
Jolanta Mačiulienė
“We understand that when the government changes, the former rulers will not be able to accept any amendment, but in reality the situation is not the most fun. Clearly, it is good that we are not completely isolated, that we can breathe at least a little, even if one, two people come. But the situation does not change, money does not increase and costs do not decrease, “he said.
The plans of the Association of Beauty Professionals include an intention to address the newly elected ruling majority.
“We really plan to address the Government (…). A new alignment will begin to work on Friday and we plan to write to our elected women. I think they are really responsible and can see this situation from another angle,” he said.
J. Mačiulienė also added that currently many beauty service bookings are postponed to a later time, which can cause some problems in serving customers after the end of the quarantine.
“Reservations are postponed. So if the spread of the coronavirus is controlled, the time will come when the quarantine will be lifted and we will have to think again about how to accept all the people who are currently postponing visits to a later date,” he told Eltai.
ELTA recalls that after the introduction of quarantine in the country as of November 7, hairdressers, beauty salons and tattoos can continue working if hygiene requirements are met. Mandatory masks, pre-registration.
