The fiftieth duel is a meeting between the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia in the 1986 World Cup semi-finals, in which Arvydas Sabonis and Dražen Petrovičius shone.
In the semifinals of the 1986 World Championship in Spain, the Soviet Union, with 21-year-old Arvydas Sabonis at the helm, made an impressive rescue in a match with the Yugoslavs.

For the Yugoslavs, Dražen Petrovičius scored 29 points, Aleksandras Petrovičius scored 15 points.
Dražen Petrovičius was announced the MVP of this championship. He scored an average of 25.2 points.
In the final, the Soviet Union lost 85:87 to the US national team. USA Valdemaras Chomičius scored 17 points, Sabonis scored 16 points.
