During the first quarantine, new non-existent structures were born in a few weeks instead of months: fever clinics, mobile points, the payment mechanism was changed, test volumes were expanded several hundred times, etc. And what did we see of those strong, pre-election promises? and nothing. The 130-point plan did not ring, and the talk that it would be more accurate and not whipped could not be seen, and so it remained. Even without thinking about more precise measures, many businesses were closed, discriminating against the small ones, and there was no time to plan aid for them, because the minister “meets” and promises to show the basements of the ministry or play the piano.
During those two months, the new government not only failed to deliver on what it generously promised, but also suspended what was planned by the previous government. Suspended DNA plan, delayed investments, delay in infrastructure development. When listening to the presentation of the preliminary draft plan of measures of the government program in the Health Commission, it was constantly repeated that everything will be very analyzed, there will be discussions, it will be oriented, improved, etc. There are only a few concrete steps. There are no realistic goals for further increases in medical salaries, questions about the extension of the branch agreement are stalled, and development of the infectious diseases cluster has been suspended.
Even speaking of better and more accurate data, the current rulers have accepted it. Even city mayors were able to count the number of healed themselves faster. The instruction to automate the calculation of the number of recuperators in the system was given to the NVSC while it was still a minister. If it hadn’t been done, it might have been noticed after two months, but very quickly, if there had really been a conversation with the authorities and the ministry leadership at the situation management staff meeting, it would have taken more than 5 minutes. during which it is possible to greet.
Suddenly, analysts who had harshly criticized the previous administration no longer needed data accuracy. They solemnly stated that they had never taken this data seriously. In fact, overall morbidity is not a very important indicator, and morbidity for the past two weeks has also been accurate under our guidance.
In addition to those who died from COVID, those who were simply diagnosed with a COVID infection along with its other cause of illness or death suddenly saw a ‘real picture’. Only those numbers were always posted and viewable. Only one murdered person who was diagnosed with COVID after death was not considered a victim of COVID. But such noisy reports of a “seen situation” are nothing more than an attempt to divert attention, of an inability to handle the situation as promised, and a strict shutdown does not require the high managerial skills that the country’s former president lacked. .
I’m not talking about complete communication chaos anymore. A public information group is needed in an emergency not for a plus, but so that there are no different instructions or comments in a complex situation. And this is not a restriction on freedom of expression, as some imagine and say that now everyone can speak freely. Well, talk freely, what about the piano, what about the quarantined releases, what about the long-awaited releases, etc. Cacophony of sheer information that acts like a red rag for a tired society.
And these are just a few observations on the big picture of the situation. Knowing how many more components of situation management there are, these observations could go on for a long time. That’s what you have to do when you see that even political scientists or some commentators who are already living on the “honeymoon” start to lose patience and are already talking about the problems of the new government in an open text. And the recipe is as old as the world. If you want to stop talking about your issues, find other issues that you can discuss and address.
After promising members of the Seimas to present the pandemic management plan, the current rulers did not follow through on their promise and instead the president of the Seimas criticized the LVŽS proposals regarding the consequences of the quarantine.
mitigation, saying it is a weak student work. I will only remind the Honorable Speaker of the Seimas that we did not even receive a student work from the rulers, what to say about the student work there.
I remember very well the words of the current Prime Minister that it is not difficult to close everything and quarantine everything (this is what the current Government has shown by doing what is not complicated), but it will be much more difficult to quarantine. And he was absolutely right. Absolutely correct. When targeted action by the Government was needed, an overview of the situation remained (not just the health system), and ministers, even in open opposition to the Prime Minister, began to present their versions or share promises that the Government had not done. later accept.
Today I read the deliberations of one of the most prominent conservative demagogues, J.Razma, on the decomposition of LVŽS. In its publication, it names the members of the faction who did not receive the position of shadow ministers in the shadow government announced by LVŽS. This, in his opinion, shows a clear collapse. I would just like to remind my colleague, Mr Razma, that the shadow government has no real powers and that its disintegration or merger does not have a major impact on crisis management. The royal government, meanwhile, is really responsible for handling the situation, and there are more than enough signs of disintegration or disagreement. Also, if we look at the TS-LKD itself, no one tries to hide the extremely clear ideological divisions in it. The Prime Minister herself has repeatedly mentioned that there are clear differences of opinion on certain matters of value. It is no secret to anyone that some conservatives are not conservative. This is an absolutely liberal politician and he does not hide it. This only increases tensions, as forming a coalition with political forces like the Freedom Party will mean deciding how to proceed with drug liberalization, same-sex couples or legalization of marriage, and many other issues. After the president of Seimas nominated a candidate for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania, some conservatives who had not received positions in the royal government openly declared that they would not support such a candidacy. And here my colleague J.Razma does not see any cracks. This is called a difference of opinion. Or maybe you still see Perhaps you see so well that these problems must be covered up immediately by turning to others and trying to follow the principle that the more you stain, the more you try to lubricate others.
There are also strong reports that we will not buy the sputnik vaccine. And who offers us? Is it already registered in Europe so you can buy it? Have we not already ordered enough Western vaccines to vaccinate our population multiple times that vaccines should be sought in enemy countries? What are we discussing here? Or maybe we are debating why there is no lack of problems related to vaccination in Lithuania itself. The Minister’s indecision about the sixth dose of the Pfizer vaccine caused us to simply discard thousands of doses. Unauthorized people and those related to conservatives were vaccinated, for whom the services even started investigations. Free communication about the AstraZeneca vaccine, announcing that there are doubts about its safety, so it will be used to vaccinate teachers. Woof. As they say, a strong war. Now we hear the anxiety and protests of teachers because they want to choose another vaccine. You may want to offer them a “sputnik” because the AstraZeneca vaccine is already in doubt.
Looking at this whole picture, it becomes very clear why the shadow government is becoming so important to the current rulers. Why is it that your party members, who have indisputable powers in certain areas (eg K. Starkevičius – in agriculture), cannot offer ministerial posts, suddenly worry about shadow government minister posts. This helps to divert attention from the appointments of members who have been compromised, punished or even expelled from the party and linked to criminal groups to high positions in the ministries. Divide and conquer. Create an impression of strangers’ problems so that you can divert attention away from your own.
