This was confirmed in the updated Facebook post by Arūnas Penkaitis, a representative of the parents of progymnasium students.

“Some people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (coronavirus infection). Classes are informed by a separate message and both will return to distance education,” wrote A. Penkaitis.

Early Saturday, he had already predicted that a couple of classes would have to go back to distance learning.

As the lrt.lt portal announced on Saturday, when the children of this school returned to classes three weeks ago, the test with the cumulative method COVID-19 on Friday returned two positive tests.

According to the portal, the progymnasium, which began teaching contact classes on February 22, received negative responses to COVID-19 tests performed by the cumulative method after the first and after the second week.

On Wednesday, the government gave 25 municipalities the opportunity to open general education schools for primary school children. With the incorporation of the Vilnius City Municipality, which already had such a permit, 26 municipalities can select subordinate schools to implement the safe return to school project. According to preliminary data, more than 60 schools wanted to get their primary school children back.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports said on Friday that it still did not know exactly how many schools would start across the country next week.
