The language of opera is accessible and understandable to everyone.
For many soloists, VCO operas have become a stepping stone to the world stage; No exception is Asmik, who still calls this ensemble his first home.
Bohemians have been with me since the beginning of my career, so it is an integral part of life that will always be with me. It is a home, the beginning of the beginning, like a baby that I will always feel responsible for, no matter where I am or what I do, ”says Grigorian.
She claims to believe that the language of opera can be accessible and understood by everyone and everyone who listens to opera can find their personal story in it.
“It has always been very important to me to bring as many young people to the opera as possible.” I wanted to show them, and those who have never heard opera, that they are not just the heroes, but the people themselves, “says A Grigorian.
Each role as part of life and crossing new borders
Having created more than one memorable role in opera performances, Asmik says that it has never been difficult for her to be in a role because in this way she has a unique opportunity to survive and experience many other different destinations in one lifetime.
“The experience of each role makes me grow a lot as a person. I experience the feelings and experiences of each hero, ”says Asmik.
Still, the positive emotions on stage are inseparable from the fear the soloist struggled with for 17 years.
“The feeling of fear is one of the biggest struggles with myself so far. Only this year, for the first time, I dared to sing the premiere without special drugs to reduce heart rate and panic. The fear has not gone away for anybody. On the other hand, only now do I realize that I have reached such a level of professionalism, when I know that despite my fears, I will do everything I can to the fullest ”, A. Grigorian shares his experience.
Where and who you want to be is the everyday choice.
During the conversation, the opera soloist shared her philosophy of life, which, especially before the start of the New Year, inspires and stimulates action.
“The greatest sin in life, not using your potential and opportunities, is what is given over and over again every day. If we do not go beyond our limits, we stay still,” says the interlocutor.
Asmik inspires you about the need to have priorities, the courage to follow the path of your choice and reminds you that even if you fail today, you will have a new opportunity to choose where and who you want to be tomorrow.
Internal therapy and future wishes
When asked about inspiration, Asmik says that even the smallest details in everyday life can inspire her and share her thoughts on the need for inner balance.
“As much as you give yourself, you have to take it later, so you don’t burn yourself,” says Grigorian of needing to take care of himself.
The soloist also mentions her internal therapy methods. One of the ways to restore inner balance and relax is the sauna, which revives you both emotionally and physically.
Talking about the future and wishes, Asmik opens with a smile, “I want everything. Desire is one of the greatest magicians. When we want something, it takes us further. “
