He said that it is not yet clear when Starlink Lithuania will establish an office in Lithuania and how much money it plans to invest.

The meeting also discussed how Lithuanian business and science could contribute to the implementation of Starlink, a satellite broadband communications system in Lithuania and the Baltic States.

“Today, we can rejoice that Lithuania is being chosen by foreign companies of this scale. Together with representatives of E. Musko’s technology company SpaceX, we discussed the most important steps to make the process of your arrival in Lithuania as smooth as as fluid as possible. The fact that SpaceX has decided to establish a Starlink company in Lithuania means a lot to our entire space technology ecosystem, the innovation-creating community here, the international image of the country and regular internet users. I am convinced that such mutual cooperation will foster innovation, provide an incentive to develop advanced technologies and high value-added products, ”says Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė.

Satellite Internet connection will allow Lithuania to have better Internet access in remote locations, which will create more opportunities for people to start businesses across the country.

During the meeting, it was decided to hold a joint meeting of the Lithuanian space market participants and the SpaceX teams to define in more detail the possible areas and forms of cooperation. Lithuania has great potential to develop technologies and software for optics and optoelectronics, lasers, earth observation technologies, satellite engines for space maneuvers.

According to the minister, the growth and commercialization of the space sector is one of the priority directions of the Ministry, and there are currently more than 30 companies involved in space supply chains in the country, one of which generates an average of 0.5 million. sales revenue in euros. The global value of the space sector last year was 317 billion. It grows approximately 6.7% annually.
