Approved: from now on, the municipalities will be divided into zones of traffic light color according to the incidence of coronavirus

Following the recommendations of international organizations, at Wednesday’s meeting the government approved the division of municipalities into three zones according to epidemiological indicators: yellow, green and red. Municipalities in the red zone may be subject to local quarantine and restricted population activity to control the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Municipalities are expected to begin assigning the incidence of coronavirus starting next week. Based on the zoning, it will be decided what recommendations for the management of the spread of the virus to provide to the municipality.

The municipalities will be evaluated according to three criteria: a 14-day morbidity rate of 100,000. the percentage of the population that tested positive within 7 days and the percentage of non-outbreak / outbreak-related cases within 7 days.

The green zone will now mean that the risk of coronavirus is low in the municipalities that fall into it, and that no additional restrictions are required for the municipalities that meet this criterion. Municipalities with a morbidity rate of less than 25 cases per 100,000 will enter the green zone. The percentage of the population and the number of positive tests per week is less than 4%.

The yellow zone will mean that municipalities within it must be prepared and responsibly follow the recommendations of public health experts to control the further spread of the coronavirus.

The yellow zone will include the municipalities where morbidity does not exceed 50 cases per 100 thousand. population and positive tests equal to or greater than 4%. or morbidity 25-150 cases per 100 thousand. less than 4% of the population tested positive.

Red zone: it will be considered the most dangerous zone. Municipalities in it will not only have to follow the recommendations and instructions of specialists, but will also decide on the announcement of the local quarantine. After their publication, restrictions should also be established for public life, events, education, the introduction of mandatory personal protective equipment and respect for distances.

The red zone will include those municipalities where the incidence exceeds 50 cases per 100,000. population, positive tests – 4 percent. and more, and the proportion of cases not related to outbreaks or outbreaks is 30 percent. or more per week, or those with a morbidity greater than 150 cases per 100,000. the proportion of population and cases not related to outbreaks or outbreaks is 30%. or more per week, that is, at least 10 cases per week must be registered with the municipality.
