Another record number of new coronavirus cases was confirmed last day: 950 and six people died, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

Two deaths were recorded in Marijampol deaths, one in each of the Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Telšiai and Utena counties.

The youngest person who died of coronavirus last day belonged to the 50-60 age group, the oldest from 90 to 99 years old.

All the dead had other chronic diseases. The coronavirus was confirmed in the dead on October 16, 18, 21, 23, 25 and 28.

A total of 150 people have died since COVID-19.

D. Razmuvienė: morbidity will increase

“Maybe we won’t mention the word record any more, because those numbers will definitely grow (…). Seeing certain behavior in our people, the virus is actually spreading very fast. (…) We can see perfectly what is happening. during sports competitions, clubs, cafes, ”D. Razmuvienė told reporters on Thursday.

“Before it was a more responsible approach, now we have the consequences of a behavior that is not always responsible,” added the specialist.

According to the NVSC, the majority of patients are under the age of 65, which according to D. Razmuvienė means that they are socially active.

According to her, the public in Lithuania disregarded the previously valid recommendations.

D. Razmuvienė emphasized that it is no longer possible to pinpoint the areas where the virus is spreading most rapidly at present.

“The virus is spreading everywhere,” said an NVSC spokeswoman.

According to her, COVID-19 currently affects about 700 doctors.

“If this chain falls, … this is where we see the greatest threat,” said D. Razmuvienė.

An NVSC spokeswoman also said she welcomed the expert council the president is creating.

Most new coronavirus cases are in Vilnius county

Most of the new coronavirus cases were recorded in Vilnius County last day. Here 350 cases of the 950 cases registered last day have been confirmed.

152 diseases were recorded in Kaunas county, 124 in Klaipėda, 120 in Telšiai, 97 in Šiauliai, 35 in Panevėžys, 32 in Tauragė, 28 in Marijampolė, seven in Alytus, and five in Utena county.

NVSC says that most of these people became infected after contact with sick people.

Among other things, 142 diseases have been recorded for which the circumstances of the infection are unclear.

“However, these figures have not yet been reviewed, as not all epidemiological studies have been completed,” says NVSC.

In Lithuania, a total of 13,088 people were infected with the coronavirus, 8,301 were still sick and 4,582 recovered.

370 people in hospitals

In Lithuanian hospitals, 370 people are being treated for COVID-19, 22 more patients than those reported on Wednesday, 34 of them in resuscitation.

165 patients are being treated with oxygen masks and another 14 are undergoing artificial lung ventilation.

There are currently 28,756 people in isolation.

As of June 1, 393 import cases had been registered in Lithuania.

Last day 11,866 samples of suspected coronavirus were analyzed. So far a total of 997,860 samples have been analyzed.

COVID-19 patients may also be hospitalized at Ukmergė and Alytus hospitals

When the beds for COVID-19 patients in the Santara clinics are almost full on Thursday, it is planned to start admitting patients at the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital from Friday, and in the future they will be able to be accommodated in hospitals. from Ukmergė and Alytus.

“We still have places, there will be enough for tonight. Of course, the situation will be more complicated, because we will need to coordinate between the buildings, but we also have an agreement with Antakalnis Hospital that we will probably have to hospitalize COVID-19 patients for the morning, at the latest in the afternoon, ”said the Director of the Santara Clinic management Aušra Bilotienė-Motiejūnienė.

“We also have support (hospitals – BNS), both in Ukmergė and in Alytus. If necessary, they were spoken to again, they have to be prepared.
