Furthermore, an estimated 1 case reported yesterday is related to an outbreak at the Valakampiai social services home. Another 2 cases are related to the outbreak in the dance studio “Spindulys”, 1 – to the fireplace in the Vilnius choir “Bel Canto”.

In Kaunas county, 3 cases of infection are related to the Blinstrubiškės welfare home. Individuals are employees. A total of 172 cases of COVID-19 are associated with this outbreak, of which 51 were workers, 111 inhabitants and 10 secondary cases.

Another 8 cases of coronavirus, confirmed yesterday, were associated with outbreaks in the departments of the Kaunas Clinics, and 4 cases were associated with outbreaks in the departments of the Kaunas Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. In addition, 1 case, confirmed yesterday, is associated with outbreaks in the Vilkija Primary Health Care Center of the Kaunas District, the Vilkija Nursing and Supportive Care Hospital.

Another case under evaluation is related to the outbreak at the Kaišiadorys Social Services Center, as well as 1 – to the Kaunas Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

In addition, 2 cases related to the outbreak were recorded in the Kaunas choir “Lyra”, 1 – related to the outbreak in the dance studio “Flash Dance”.

Another case in Kaunas county is associated with outbreaks in the “Long Mustache” kindergarten, Veiveriai Tomas Žilinskas Gymnasium, Kaunas Vaižgantas Progymnasium University of Technology.

Yesterday, in Šiauliai county, 2 cases of infection related to the Šiauliai educational center “Spindulys” were registered, one of which is related to outbreaks in the Kelmė vocational training center, in the company “Kelmės vanduo”.

Another 5 cases confirmed yesterday are related to the outbreak in the Lioliai welfare home in Kelmė district (a total of 21 cases, of which 12 residents, 4 employees and 5 secondary cases).

In addition, 1 case was recorded in Šiauliai county, which is related to the outbreak in Kuršėnai hospital (a total of 36 related cases).

In Klaipėda County, 4 cases of infection were recorded during the last day, associated with the outbreak in the Skuodas branch of the Klaipėda Republican Hospital, all people are patients (currently a total of 9 related cases are recorded).

Another case in Klaipėda county is associated with outbreaks at the Ernestas Galvanauskas Vocational Training Center in Klaipėda and the University of Klaipėda.

In Marijampolė County, an estimated 20 cases confirmed yesterday are related to an outbreak in Marijampolė special social care homes, of which 18 are residents and 2 employees. A total of 54 related cases were registered, of which 35 are residents and 19 employees.

In Telšiai county, 2 cases are related to the outbreak in the Rietavas Cultural Center, 1 each: in the Department of Psychiatry of the Klaipėda Seafarers Hospital in Švėkšna, another case of infection is estimated to be related to the outbreak at the Plungė Post Office.

In Panevėžys County, 7 coronavirus cases are associated with an outbreak in Pasvalys Police, 2 – with a focus on the Panevėžys Republican Hospital Infectious Disease Clinic, of which one person is a patient and the other a employee.

In Utena County, 3 cases of infection, registered yesterday, are related to a family vacation in the Molėtai district, and another 3, to a neighborhood meeting. There are also 2 more cases in Utena County related to the outbreak in the Utena Court Expert Division of the State Forensic Psychiatric Service.

Yesterday there were 3 cases of coronavirus in Tauragė county, related to the outbreak in Jurbarkas hospital, all people are patients. A total of 6 related cases were registered.

There are 5 more deaths from coronavirus in Lithuania

NVSC reports that on the last day information on 5 coronavirus deaths was received from medical institutions: 3 recorded in Šiauliai county, 1 in each of Kaunas and Telšiai counties. Currently, the infection has claimed 125 lives.

The first case of death was registered in Šiauliai county. The deceased belonged to the 80-89 age group and had comorbidities. The coronavirus was confirmed in one person on October 16.

The second case of death was registered in Šiauliai county. The deceased belonged to the age group 90-99 and had comorbidities. The coronavirus was confirmed in one person on October 18.

The third death was registered in Šiauliai county. The deceased belonged to the age group of 70 to 79 years and presented comorbidities. The coronavirus was confirmed in one person on October 12.

The fourth death was in Kaunas County. The deceased belonged to the age group 60 to 69 years and presented comorbidities. The coronavirus was confirmed on October 5.

The fifth case of death was registered in Telšiai county. The deceased belonged to the age group of 70 to 79 years and presented comorbidities. The coronavirus was confirmed in one person on October 15.

In addition, last day a case of death was recorded in Šiauliai county, when a person infected with a coronavirus died for other reasons.

For their part, public health professionals urge people to follow all measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection: hand hygiene, coughing, sneeze etiquette, use of personal protective equipment, physical distance and more. .

239 people are treated in hospitals for COVID-19

According to SAM, 239 people with confirmed COVID19 infection are treated in Lithuanian hospitals. 18 of them are in resuscitation. 88 patients are being treated with oxygen masks and seven more are on artificial lung ventilation.

As the number of people suffering from coronavirus grows rapidly, the government decided on Wednesday to introduce additional measures to stop the spread of the infection. According to the extent of the spread of COVID-19, the country’s municipalities will be divided into green, yellow and red zones. The opening hours of cafes, bars and clubs will change: they will be able to work from 7 to 24 hours. On Wednesday, the government also approved new criteria to assess the risk of coronavirus infection in other European Union countries. The states will be grouped into four categories: green, yellow, red, and gray.
