The vice mayor assured that yesterday, April 12, it was decided to temporarily suspend primary education in contact at the Butrimonys Gymnasium from April 13 to 23 and the same education in the Butrimonys Kindergarten under the gymnasium, the children will be educated at a distance as before. This is related to the fact that the parents of some of these age groups work on the farm of A. Žemaitis, the aim is to protect the gym from the spread of the coronavirus.

“Someone came to work sick”
According to data from the Alytus Department of the National Center for Public Health, from April 8 to today, April 12, the A. Žemaitis farm was diagnosed with coronavirus in 17 out of every fifty employees. All the patients are now isolated and also in quarantine and have had contact with patients. One of the sick employees at this farm, a man in his 50s, was admitted to S. Kudirka Hospital in Alytus County and is in more serious condition. This was confirmed by the owner of the farm A.Žemaitis.
He also admitted that he had been diagnosed with a coronavirus: “I have to be in isolation until April 17. But I can say that I may not feel anything yet. “
When asked how, in his opinion, the COVID-19 infection could have entered the farm for the first time, A. Žemaitis said: “Someone came to work sick.”
Specialists from the Alytus Department of the National Center for Public Health have not yet been able to determine the cause of the spread of the virus.
According to A.Žemaitis, the farm is now operating minimally, about twenty people work and no instructions have been received from the National Center for Public Health regarding the suspension of activities.
