In the centurgery’s stalls there is already the legacy of the 90s and 2000s

Several centuries from the 19th century to the late 20th century furniture, tools and interior details that arrived in the early 19th century Especially a lot of interwar, World War II and postwar legacy. And over the years, more and more witnesses from the past decades, including those from the 1990s and 2000s, find themselves in centurion positions.

The latter mainly attract not those who are interested in history, but those who still remember and use such things themselves. These are mainly toys, plates, cassettes, car models. And also televisions, radios, mobile phones.

The desire to travel has become a collection of matchboxes

In this senturgy, attention is drawn to a huge wooden eagle sculpture, an untraditionally spotted black dog, and parts of an ancient diving suit. The latter, like the silhouette of an alien from space, towering over other exhibits the centurion is waiting for his new master.

This is the upper part of the spacesuit, probably copper, with round lenses for the eyes. Made in then Leningrad, 20th century. in the first half.

Many of the exhibits attract people first and foremost through their stories. There are even several boxes with old matchboxes on the Anatolijus counter in Vilnius.

“It was probably one of the largest collections of matchboxes in Lithuania out of several thousand exhibits. I bought several hundred units from a Vilnius resident whose father had a great dream of leaving the Soviet Union. And since he couldn’t, he tried to get at least one box of matches from different countries. After that, he also started collecting Lithuanian boxes.

Many of them date back to the revival and the early years of independence. It’s fun to remember those times when inspecting those boxes, because we used matches much more often then than now and many of them remember that design so much that they still remember it, ”said Anatolijus, centurgy merchant.

Shaving set – with a sad story

Another thing in its history is the shaving kit, which is about 40 years old. The story is not exclusive, but that is why many of those who remember those times are able to identify themselves or their loved ones in it.

“This game was brought to me by an acquaintance of mine who found out that I was dedicated to antiques. At that time, it was very rare and expensive to bring gifts from abroad to his father. The father was very pedantic and frugal, very much in keeping with such a precious gift in every way. And I kept putting off what an important opportunity here to use it.

Finally, the gift was forgotten, thrown somewhere on the shelves, the father died. And only now, while tidying up the apartment, has the daughter found that legendary shaving kit so protected but forgotten in a leather case. Even the unpackaged piece of foreign soap from that time is carefully placed here, ”said Žydrūnas, who sells the game.

The “Laiko ratu” time circle will take place throughout the weekend of September 18-20, from morning to afternoon. The centurion’s place is the market town “Urmas” in Kaunas, in the parking lot located at Elektrėnų str. 1F.
