Hospital without rubber and Alytus. According to its manager Artūras Vasiliauskas, if patients are transported at the current intensity, there will soon be no places in the former Nursing Department. This two-story hospital building has 40 beds, half of which are already occupied.

Two ambulances with patients with COVID-19 arrived only during the filming of this video report. Both infected people were elderly from Daugai (Alytus district) and Varėna.

At the end of the week, another 30 places will be installed at Alytus S. Kudirka Hospital, and a four-bed coronavirus resuscitation unit will temporarily appear in place of the pediatric resuscitation unit.

If Alytus Hospital becomes the only one in southern Lithuania where it will specialize in treating coronavirus, Alytus residents would have to treat other illnesses in other cities in the country.

If the pandemic situation does not improve during quarantine, a fever clinic may be established at the Alytus County Tuberculosis Hospital facility. As a result, Povilas Jagelavičius, a doctor from the Alytus city municipality, has already submitted to the Ministry of Health.
